Infected nail bed

So I had a hang nail last week or the week before and too it off. I went to the school nurse and she said it was infected. It is red, puffy, and hurts to touch anything. She said to show my dad and he could get some anti biotics. She said if it get's worse they will have to open it up and drain the infected part. What are the chances of it getting worse if I put neosporin on it, and don't take the anti biotics? Because I don't want ti to get worse to that point.

Take the antibiotics. There's really not much of a reason not to, and it'll definitely help.

Alright I'll take antibiotics. It's just that I'm not sure if it will get looked at soon, since my dad will be looking at it, and well I told him about it, he's just always "busy". I'll try the things you did in the mean time Kyle. Thank you both.
