Where are the symphonic metal fans? :D

I just bought my tickets today to an Epica gig in two weeks. The thought of seeing Simone in person is amazing... both cause I think her voice is wicked and I've developed a bit of a crush on her... :wub:

So I made this thread to see if anyone else (and I'm positive there's at leat a few others here) shares my love for Epica and similar bands.

Yeah, I do like some Symphonic Gothic/Power metal bands. Epica has to be one of them. I don't collect their CDs, but I listen to them on youtube. Leaves' Eyes, Xandria, Nightwish and Withen Temptation are few groups that I can call close to that of Epica.

All the ones you listed I actually like too :D Nightwish was my first-ever band like that and my first concert. I'm also into Mandragora Scream (little bit less known), Sonata Arctica, and After Forever.

Nightwish was probably the first band I have heard/seen that belongs to this genre.
Mandragora Scream, never heard of it, but sounds interesting. I know the other two.
Maybe I will start collecting CDs. Which one should I go for first?

Same. Nightwish introduced me to the entire genre.

For Epica? I'd probably recommend The Divine Conspiracy to start.
