How many do you have, what is the brand and model, how much storage do they have, and why did you choose the amount of storage that you did, and why did you choose the particular drives that you did?
I am considering buying my own external hard drive?

I have 2, they're both Western Digital Element 1TB drives.
I chose them each to have 1 TB because I have a total of 2TB of space internally, and I needed big enough backup drives. (Would have gotten 1 2TB drive, but it was cheaper to get 2 1TB drives)
I got the drives that I did because it was cheap, and I've never had an issue with Western Digital drives.

I'm in the market for one atm. I was gonna get one on cyber monday but i completely forgot. So i think im just gonna make it the christmas present i ask for. Although knowing me i'll probably get impatient and end up buying it myself. And im pretty sure im gonna go for the Western Digital 1TB they're only like 60 bucks.

I've got a 320GB Seagate FreeAgent Go for my laptop. Great little drive, I've wiped it multiple times, and used it to backup my PS3 when I got a 500GB for it. I got a 320GB because my laptop is 320GB, and I only use it for backup.
We have a 500GB Western Digital for our desktop. Its very good, but its rattley at times, nothing major though. We got that because our old desktop was only 200GB, but our new one has 1TB... Oh well. We've used less than 150GB anyway.

I got a 1TB Western Digital as a "movement device", so if I need to move, or backup, to another PC, I can. :D
