Since middle school I cannot pee when anyone is in the boy's room, especially next to me. I can go in the stall but am ashamed to do it. So I hold my bladder from 7 a.m. when I have the first piss of the day until 4 p.m. when I get home and piss for two or two and half minutes. The next pee I have is usually at bed time--only three times a day. Can anyone else share their problem with tight muscles that stop the urine from getting out.:(

Wow I used to get that too when I was little but after I started changing in front of other guts it went away. I think its normal to feel awkward at the urinal and get stage fright lol but I think yours is a bit worse then most

I pee maybe 4 times a day.

Before school, in gym, sometime after school, and before I go to bed.

I used to be like that... but, holding it in like that can cause major infections and that story WON'T have a happy ending... Best thing to do is talk to a close friend or someone about it, well you kinda took that step by posting on here. Then i would think you need to boost your confidence.

Take me for example, in school I was a massive nerd, would sit by myself during break/recess and I would NEVER EVER use the toilets, or even get changed in front of other guys. But the best thing one of my friends did for me was to help me with my confidence. He made me talk to girls more, got me hooked up with parties and stuff like that. Eventually I became more confident in myself and am able to do what I couldn't before... use public toilets. LOL

So what I am actually trying to say is don't be ashamed about it. Go out, boost your confidence and eventually you'll be able to use public toilets and things like that. Also, TAKE YOUR TIME!!! Don't rush it, You will get there.

Let me know how it goes!

Good luck!

Lots of guys get a bit of stage fright about pissing if someone is standing next to them, just one of those things. Deliberately holding it in all day if you feel that you need to go is not a good idea though, like Dexter said that can lead to infections.

i used to get that when i was younger, took a lot of courage to get it out of me but in the end i sorta grew outta it when i realised that there was nothing to be scared or worried about cos at the end of the day, we're all guys and we all got the same

I do that too sometimes, or even if someone is near me
If you need to go why not use the cubiclas/ stalls

Yeah, it isn't too healthy to hold it in. I had a stage when I only peed in the stalls too, but eventually I built up courage and got over it. It takes time.

That's how I was up until this year, I had to go so bad that I didn't care. Now, the only problem is that I actually have to force myself to start going. When there's noone there, I just go, but when there is I have to stand there like a retard for like 20-30 seconds trying to go even if I have to go badly (which only makes it worse -_-). It's just a comfort thing, you need to force yourself to do it and eventually you'll just not care.

That used to happen to me too but it went away when I got used to it. I heard that holding it too long for long periods of time can make bladder control even worse when your're old.
