Need help making friends with a shy girl.

I'm a guy and I am pretty outgoing. There is a girl at my school who I would like to be friends with. The only problem is that she is only in my study hall, and thats the only class. I've talked to her a few times before but its pretty hard to keep a conversation going or interesting. When we talk I can tell that she kinda feels shy and a bit awkward.

If anyone has an tips on how I can talk to her and not make her feel awkward, I would appreciate it.

My last girlfriend was like this. Before we went out she was REALLY loud and outgoing and smiley. Then when we dated she became shy and quiet. She may be nervous.

Perhaps find something she's interested in and talk about that. Bring an iPOD or something. Interact with her more. Maybe even beyond talking and that doesn't automatically mean sexual. It shouldn't.

just keep talking to her, make her laugh bring something she might be interested in like mmusic (ipod) ask her if she wants to meet up at the weekend, nothing serious just friends meeting up. Maybe the reason she is shy, is because she likes you. Is she one of the "populars" at you school? are you one of the "populars" and she isnt? that could be the reason for shyness. Either way just be a friend to her, you will be surprised what can ahppen :)

I am one of the popular kids at my school and so is she, however, usually on the weekend we usually dont go to the same party.
