My parents have offerd to buy me the cream and lotions that helps get rid of scars but I refuse.I have noticed that I love my scars dearly and I wouldn give them up for anything.Yet at the same time Im ashmed and don't want anyone to see...I was just wondering if anyone feels the same way.:whoops:

Yes.
I have quite a bit of scars, and I tried the creams and lotions and to be honest, it didn't do much. But my scars are me, I wouldn't want to get rid of them all. There was one though, it was bigger than the rest and it was an accident. The cut wasn't supposed to be so deep, it was the only scar that I disliked, mostly because all of the others I was in control of, this one like I said was an accident. So I got a tattoo over it. I can still see it but it's not as noticable to everyone else. I used to get alot of questions about that scar, but since the tattoo not one, so I'm pleased with it.
I've been cutting for 6 years, and for a really really long time I was ashamed of all my scars, no matter the size. I would have given anything to have normal, clear arms and it wasn't until last year I finally accepted my arms. I finally saw them and said "this is me, this is what I had to do to get through."
But yeah, I do understand.

The best way is to let the sun reduce them. At first its embarrassing and you feel really awkward. But afterwards the scars are less noticeable. They are still there but faded.

to be honest I wish I scar'd
but I just....don't
I've had ALLOT of accidents broken arm, crushed hand, ripped cartilige, deep cuts, bruised ribs etc...
ontop of that i've been cutting for just over 4years the only scars I have are 2 both from accidental injurys one in my eye itself black diamond shape from when i was stabbed with a pencil and on my forehead when i split it wide open
thats it
when I cut i do get FAINT scars but there hard to see as is and completly disapear within 2 weeks
I wish I scar'd
I wish I had something I could touch
i could see that would remind me
I dont want to forget
but thats me

I wish I had scars, too. I guess I dont cut deep/often enough for it to scar, but if I had any scars - I wouldnt want to get rid of them. When I do cut, I get puffy, red, stays for a week or two scars...but thats it.

that's rather freaky, because i too feel the same.
I love stroking my scars, and just generally touching them... however, if anybody is near, i quickly hide them.

I love my scars. I'd never give them up for anything. I'm not embarrased by them, just embarrased of why I got them and how I got them. Cutting for four years, the last year the worst of them all. They make me beautiful. That's what my friend says. And when I touch them, I remember why i have to stop cutting. And it reminds of what I became when i did cut.
My scars will live with me forever. They're mine and no one elses. That's how I look at it. I'll never give them up.

i love my scars because everyone one like tells a story of some event in my life and it's who i am and what made me, me. i don't mind if my friends can see then or people my own ages but i aways hide them from older people out of habbit like my mum and dad and teachers and other peoples parents.
:confused:i'm confused people are saying that the sun will make them fade but i thought this will just make them more visiable becuase scars don't tan and my arms will.
i'm pretty sure i'm stuck with my scars tho becuase i burn more than cut and the cutting scars are white and do fade but the burning scars are really pink and there like indents in my arms and i've had then for nearly a year and there still as clear as ever.

I stopped cutting regularly a few years ago. At the time my arms were covered in really noticeable scars. When summer came my mum made me spend time out in the sun and wouldn't let me cover my arms up unless we had company. Trust me, it works. Some of my scars did fade.

I have two scars
One of them goes a third of the way round my arm
I wish it would vanish
I'm not proud of it, but I am too embarassed to buy some cocoa butter or whatever.
So I just wear long sleeves.

Don't be embarassed to do what you feel you have to do to make yourself comfortable again. No one will look down on you.

I think it's not good to be too proud of them - that could set it in your mind that you might do it forever and never stop, and I don't care what you say, but it's harming yourself. It's not something you want to do for the rest of your life.

It's good that you don't cut yourself anymore
And they won't. They will see a regular teen go into a store, buy some lotion, and come out. They won't know why you bought it. Thier mind won't jump right to "Oh my gosh, he's a cutter and trying to make his scars go away." It's not like that.

I'm too self conscious...
So I'm not going to bother
I'll just wear long sleeves until it fades

i've had scars for over a year and they still haven't faded, i think it all depends on how you got the scar for example burnting cutting or other and also how deep or serious the cut/burn was will effect the time it takes the scars to fade . plus burns tend to make darker scars.
