So confused

So I'm a Christian, ive been a christian forever, but there's one thing I have trouble with. The bible is always condemning homosexuality. I think that people don't choose to become homosexual, i don't know if people are born homosexual or are made to be homosexual by circumstances outside their control. I don't understand why god would make someone somthing he hates. It doesn't make sense. jesus prayed "lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one."I don't know. Any thoughts? (I know this seems like the wrong place to post this question but I was asking it as a Gods relationship to sexuality question so I think it goes here)

I might not be the best to answer this but I'll try.

First of all, people are born gay. No one would choose to be gay. Well, at least that I know of. We might have something that makes us realize it but that's it.

And the Bible is complex. When one person uses a quote from the Bible to say/defend something, someone else can easily contest that with another quote. It's all a means of interpreting it. I don't think God hates gays, because why would he make them? It like an artist painting in a style he hates.

Don't worry about religious ideals / what society says you should be, just do whatever you feel happy with.

I'm religious and I think either the bible is being interpreted wrong or the thing itself is just wrong. Did you know its a sin to get a haircut? Somehow, I dont think everyone who has had a haircut has gone to hell, if hell exists(why would god, who loves us as we are send anyone there?).
My point is, alot alot alot of things are said to be sins, if homosexuality even is a sin(i dont believe so) then I'm sure god will treat it as other sins(ya know.. repenting or something, i dont really know).

Sure religion can give people something to believe in and make them feel better, but it also causes wars, discrimination and general hated.
Even if you are a Christian and agree with most of the Bible, if you disagree with the teachings on homosexuality, I'm sure God will love you all the same ;)

I won't be calling your beliefs a "pile of crap," but the bible CAN be interpreted in many ways and if you believe God creates everyone then he must have created you the way he did, and as the bible also states - God loves everyone.

Your homosexual feelings may just be down to hormones in puberty, or if you are not straight in adulthood it's nothing to be concerned about. Homophobia in society is at the very lowest it's really ever been, you shouldn't get much grief about it anymore.

Religion is complicated and it conflicts and confuses many parts of many peoples lives. My advice to you is to follow your beliefs, if you are Christian, but not let it control your life so much that you are trying to be something that you are not. Be who you are, love who you are - don't try to be anything else.

That way you will not only be a lot happier, but others will be happier with who you are.

I think you either develop a liking for the same sex or you are born that way and either realize it later in life. It's up to you to choose whether or not you can accept yourself or you can choose to be in denial. I think that the bible was made by someone close minded as god is god and god is who determines/created US. as a whole. :)
