My main pretty much got killed in patch 4.1, as she's a hunter and a lot of the things I loved about playing her got wiped out. Most of the hunters in my guild have stopped playing their hunters because of it. Some have even cancelled their accounts for a month in a protest. Its annoying as heck.

Anyway, I'm playing my Druid/DK a lot lately.

What is it you don't like about hunters? I do agree with you...too many spell changes for me and too low focus regen too, who knows, it may be better at 85. (don't forget the changes were made to optimise at lvl85!)

Uh what? Hunters are beast now. It's nice actually having to think a bit to play them. Granted, PvP is a little bit trickier but it'll be better at 85 when you have camo. I don't know why everyone is so uptight but focus is the single best thing to happen to hunters in this game. >_>

Anyway. I have two main characters, but this one's the one that's the best representation. He's mah Kingslayer and the guy I PvP with mostly:

I've been raiding more with my warrior lately (yay tanks!), so here he is in all his glory (don't pay attention to his gear, it's the "PvP set" which is half PvP pieces and half tank gear.... *cough*.) His actual tank stuff is ICC10/25 level gear.

I have a rogue and a priest at 80 as well but they're meh...

So many alts between level 20-75.

Why yes, I am an addict.

EDIT: Focus regen really isn't too low for hunters. Haste fixes it pretty well, but if you have a decent amount of haste as well as raid buffs (windfury, etc.) you'll be rolling in focus. I will admit BM and Survival are not great but speccing marksmanship is fine. My brother hit 80 on his hunter a week ago and other than ICC crafted boots he's in blue, can put out 3k DPS unbuffed easily which is amazing for that gear level.

LOL I can pull 2k on my lvl 74 with a good fight, and tbh we ALL had to relearn...you have nothing to complain about tbh, they took my whole fucking spec outta the game!! I had to get new weapons and everything!! (Was an epic blood dk, now frost).
Just spend the time to learn it tbh, it isn't going to change back or change into something new anytime soon, I have yet to relearn Druid, shaman and (kinda) priest, so consider yourself lucky only learning 1 class....

As I said previously, good hunters who really know what they were doing and made the most out of focus actually reported a BOOST in damage. The guild I run had a hunter that was always pretty good in raids, but after the patch he shot up incredibly. At max I'm putting out 15k DPS, he's always trailing me with around 14k.

Almost all classes had to adapt a bit though. Example? The loss of % to hit talents meant everyone had to mess around with their hit rating after the patch, there's really not many classes that didn't change up their spells and rotation at all. You say druids are unchanged but have you seen balance? Whole new ballgame.

It's just practice. Hunters don't suck, they just take a lot more skill to play now. As a tradeoff, their potential is also higher.

Druids didn't change? >.< What spec are you? The changes they made are really annoying but I'm getting over it. It was easier to cope with the changes they made for my Unholy DK, I just came up with a new spec and learned a new rotation. I feel like they fixed the resto druids though with how much mana regen they had. I never ran out of mana. I don't know exactly what they changed to make it that way, but when I was in a random to get used to the changes to the spells, I actually had to use Innervate :O And the tree form is now 40 sec. with a cooldown D:

I haven't even bothered learning my off-spec yet though for my Druid. I haven't looked into the Balance changes yet. I just saw a few new abilities.

Im leveling her as Balance currently. I didnt play her too much before the change, but she doesnt seem to changed to me, which is why I said that.

I was forced to raid with My hunter right after the patch, because my guildies needed more DPS for Nefarion. May(hunter) usually averages around 12K dps. She's now averaging around 2K dps. We also nearly died doing Nefarion, and would have if NL(shaman) hadnt dropped Jeeves so we could fix our bows and rez'd our healer. So, 5 80s, usually on top, at the bottom, nearly died in a level 60 dungeon... *shudders* I know what you mean.

Yeah... I'm going to give myself a good break from my hunter if I come back to her at all O.o

Balance definitely hasn't changed much other than sunfire and that little eclipse bar. I quest in balance and heal for dungeons since I love the occasional instant queues versus the 16 min. wait time for random heroics on my DK. I hear it's worse for the lower levels though, up to an hour even o.O Next character I create will be a tank :P

Two more days 'till cataclysm hits ^_^ I'm trying to decide if I want to download it at 12:01 since they're setting up the servers at that time and they have an online download... or go out to buy it that morning.

I haven't been around to see the changes, except for the placement of the auction house in Stormwind (it threw me off the first time... I wanted to get some Balance glyphs and the auction house was gone :O Then I found it...). I heard that Darnassas is different (in a hollow tree or something?) and that the Barrens are half underwater, the little area in stormwind in ruins, and Auburdine destroyed. I wanted to go see everything but they took out the portals from Dalaran and I was too lazy to fly to Borean Tundra XD

I've got Cata on pre-order so it'll automatically start downloading at midnight tonight ^_^ I hope they have those "first to level 85" achievements like they did with level 80...

That's my brother. Look at his gear. Blues, greens, just a couple epics.

He can pump out 3.5k DPS unbuffed IN THAT GEAR.

And if you want I can whip out my screenshot of my level 74 hunter doing 2.4k DPS. :P

If any hunter slightly more geared is doing any less they're just terrible because my brother is a clicker. >_> I don't mean any offense, it's just the QQ over hunters is completely unfounded. Hunters have the reputation for being "huntards" for just this reason...

Now that that little rant is cleared up.

I have my warrior's quest log with 25 complete quests ready to turn in in Northrend once 12:01 hits. XD I'll spend the first 20 minutes doing that waiting for my friend to get home from our local Wal-mart, and then we're all going to do a Blackrock Caverns guild run because evidently the experience gain for your first clear is just insane (around 600k experience I hear). Hopefully it's not too hard, but we're Kingslayers so what's the worst that can happen? xP

I can't wait to hit level 85 and start raiding. I'm planning for our guild to jump right into raiding, Twilight Bastion probably because Cho'gall looks like an insanely intense fight. (Yogg-Saron was really fun so the corruption feature looks like funtime).

EDIT: I was lucky enough to get a beta invite so I leveled a Worgen during that time since I knew I would never do it on the live servers. I'm a die-hard Hordie, but the Worgen starting zone was AMAZING so you're in for a treat.

Of course, I'll be making a Goblin. I didn't play them so I'm looking forward to that. Just have to decide on a class. D:

Lol, I'm a clicker ^_^ My father (he got me into WoW) always teases me for it. I don't click when I heal unless I'm using healbot, but I do with my DK dps, and I see nothing wrong with it. I'm always at least the third dps in my raid, 8-10k. I'm just in ICC10 gear though. I don't know, it's a habit I haven't changed, but I automatically switch on my druid.

It's not terrible for raiding in WotLK, but you might find that your reaction times for a lot of raid situations in Cata raids are a little too slow if you click all your abilities. Thing is you can't make smooth transitions to targetting other mobs when you're clicking so yeah.

And don't forget PvP. :P Though I just love PvP, so that doesn't apply to everyone.

I won't be first to 85 though since there have been some really crazy people or just insomniacs I guess. The only way you could get to 85 that quickly would be to stay up all night, even if you have heirlooms on and are well-rested and such, you'd still need to stay up all night last night to have gotten to 85 yet. It soothes me to know there are crazier people than me.

Silly Alliance person though. :P

Warlock really isn't slow though imo. If you're good at it it's one of the best solo'ing classes there are and they do great DPS.

EDIT: Haha, I'm already level 85. The new higher level dungeons (Grim Batol, Lost City of Tol'Vir) are just INSANE. Crazy hard on normal mode. Wouldn't suggest even glancing at heroics until you have 5 guildies to go with you because you're going to need some decent crowd control and coordination.

Also, if anyone still needs confirmation that hunters are awesome, a hunter was our realms first level 85. xP

I went tank offspec and have managed to get him better than hc ready geared (145k life ub) without tanking a single dungeon :/ it doesn't look too hard though. Bored of doing 13k DPS by smashing my keyboard against the wall...make it more challenging Blizz!!

13k DPS isn't really a whole ton right now. Our enhancement shammy is doing around 16k in raids, and even with that when we do Baradin hold it's till straining healer mana pools.

Once you start doing BWD/BoT/To4W I think you'll find it a lot more challenging. :P

Well the thing is that im not raiding yet, we start on feb 1st, so I do not have any gear other than bits available from hcs and faction vendors. 13k is usually top in my experience of hcs tbh. I'm sure it will push higher in raids tbh.
