Elder Scrolls V Announced!

According to a new report from Eurogamer Denmark, Bethesda Softworks is currently developing a fifth title in the Elder Scrolls series and that the game will be a direct sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, released in 2006

An unnamed source confirmed "with official game documents in hand" that a new title is indeed coming and the voice acting for the characters is being recording in the coming weeks.

When asked for comment on the report, a Bethesda spokesperson said the company does not comment on rumor or speculation.

In an interview with IGN at Quakecon in August, Bethesda Game Director Todd Howard confirmed the developer's new, and still unannounced, title would not be using id Software's Rage engine, id Tech 5. Instead, Bethesda has created an entirely new game engine.

Bethesda also recently filed a trademark for an Oblivion movie.

I know that it will be called "Alinor" for several months now.

And FINALLY a new engine ! Seriously oblivion physics really sucked! I hope Jeremy Soule composes the soundtrack :)
And there are also rumors that it will be an MMO. Thing is, this could be right cos the link you gave me says it in another page :(
I hope they dont make it an MMO.

I hope direcor UWE BOLL is not in this oblivion movie thing! He makes things look fucking bad! Look what he f-ing did to Dungeon Siege.
The film he made had nothing to do with the game, the only common things were 6 names : Norick, Merick, Ehb, Konreid, Tarish and Stonebridge.

What does "Alinor" mean? It's a sequel so I would like the re-construction of Kvatch and the Temple discrict to have started in the game :)

Possily, we will be given the task to deal with these problems.
And by a sequel I think they don't mean it will be set in Cyrodiil ( with Imperial City and other stuff) it will just follow the storyline and we will still have problems such as not having an emperor for example. Or people in game will say things like " Champion of Cyrodiil tries hard to rule the empire with the Elder Council " f or example but we won't see " our previous character " who is Champion of Cyrodiil...

Ack shite, i've been dreading that it would be in Somerset isles ever since I heard rumours about ES: V when Fallout 3 was launched. I don't like the sound of really tall spellsword gang members on another island.

I quite like the idea of Hammerfell, that's the land of the Redguards right? Or possibly high rock the land of the Bretons. Highrock could be based on the Breton uprising since the the empire has been destroying all of the monarchy castles of the old kingdoms.
