i go to therapy but its not specifically for it, although thats what my therapist and i stalk about and we do some visual aid to help me, like if im pissed off at teachers in the past we did a pie chart to see how much they grade us on, math, science, english, history, and what they dont grade us on, emotional state, logic, stuff like that. It ended up being 6 outa 26 things were graded on, so it calmed me down alot.

Im not diagnosed for sure, one reason is because im under age and my pill dr, forget what theyre called says i have "traits", Which pisses me off again, so theres a difference between "traits" and "symptoms" which my dad used a while back. I dot get it, its like i have to be a COMPLETE MANIAC in order to get drugs.

Im on meds for my paranoia, but i think im getting migraines from it im not taking them as often as i should but im working on it and my dr said that it works within hours to slow my thoughts and then over weeks to bring my paranoia down a level. But my paranoia is getting worse, in a month or so i will see her again, its enough time to see if it really works or if it is giving me headaches.

Sorry for writing so much! I just see bi-polar and schizophrenic but no BPD, and that gets me mad. Its just like polar but it happens in hours and days! Why dont they have it here!?!?!?!?!?

I'm not surprised they aren't quick to diagnose it. What I've been told by one psychologist I had is that it's difficult to diagnose in teens because most teens display symptoms of BPD, but might not necessarily have it. So I've been told that usually they wait until the subject is older, and if they still have symptoms come thirty or so, they probably have it. Some teens are diagnosed this age, then that is usually because the professional is pretty sure, or that they just misdiagnosed them.

From what you described, if you feel more bipolar and the cycles happen faster, there is something called rapid cycling in bipolar disorder. I don't personally experience that as my cycles last for days, weeks, months depending, but I know it is possible. BPD though can involve frequent mood swings rather than cycles that last no more than a few hours at a time. And in general, BPD can be a LOT like bipolar disorder. If I didn't have my psychologist's opinion on it first, I would definitely be curious as to whether I personally have it.

People who are diagnosed with borderline personality disorder have at least five of the following symptoms. They may:1 (http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/tc/borderline-personality-disorder-references#ty6889)

Make frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment.
Have a pattern of difficult relationships caused by alternating between extremes of intense admiration and hatred of others.
Have an unstable self-image or be unsure of his or her own identity.
Act impulsively in ways that are self-damaging, such as extravagant spending, frequent and unprotected sex with many partners, substance abuse, binge eating, or reckless driving.
Have recurring suicidal thoughts, make repeated suicide attempts, or cause self-injury through mutilation, such as cutting or burning himself or herself.
Have frequent emotional overreactions or intense mood swings, including feeling depressed, irritable, or anxious. These mood swings usually only last a few hours at a time. In rare cases, they may last a day or two.
Have long-term feelings of emptiness.
Have inappropriate, fierce anger or problems controlling anger. The person may often display temper tantrums or get into physical fights.
Have temporary episodes of feeling suspicious of others without reason (paranoia) or losing a sense of reality.

i'm sorry you are having issues with diagnosis, i know the feeling, like the above poster said, they are usually very reluctant to diagnose teens, i got my diagnosis after 7 suicide attempts and a load of other stupid stuff, because they decided that they were certain and i was a danger to myself. they usually only diagnose under 18's in severe cases. maybe you should try talking to your therapist about how this makes you feel that you aren't being given a diagnosis? although honestly-sometimes i think you are better without having a definate BPD diagnosis, nobody ever takes BPD seriously :(

That is what drives me crazy that noone actually takes it seriously. Like my psychiatrist told me i have more of "traits", i dont even know what the difference between that and symptoms is. I guess i have to attempt suicide 7 times like u did, i wont obviously just to get diagnosed that would be completely stupid of me. But whenever i get mad at my mom for doing something like forgetting something i told her thats important to me i feel like hitting her and telling her that if she doesnt remember let me know so i wont have to tell her anything. Things like that last for about an hour inside, on the outside a few minutes.

I have all those things on the list but the first one. Some are stronger than others, but it just feels like my doctors arent doing what they can me. I take pills for paranoia and so far it takes about a month to really work and ive just began talking them as often as i should because i always forget, and its just been getting worse. I know my doctor will say its bcs of inconsistency but the side affects of the drug say that it may make it twice as worse.

I guess im just gonna live with it all for now and see where my brain takes me, thanks for your help friends, its nice to vent about something that isnt up here.

You never know-the might've diagnosed you but not told you? I know that myself and everybody else i know who has BPD didnt actually get told about it, we all found out because somebody let it slip or we realised through DBT. i was diagnosed in febuary. But didnt find out until july when my mum let it slip :(
Basically, professionals suck. If you want anything, you have to sort it yourself. But you will be fine, i mean, hopefully it will just be a phase, although if you have all but one of those symptoms you should maybe go to your doctor and say. I have all of them, but apparently, i don't have depression XD that makes me laugh so hard!!!!
DON'T make 7 suicide attempts. seriously. You have no idea how much i regret that, and it could easily go wrong.

it won't be BPD. there are no meds to cure DBT, just meds to help with particular symptoms which could be presesnt in a number of disorders.

What are you taking? Meds you'd take for BPD would overlap with pretty much everything. Patients with BPD might take anti-depressants, mood stabalizers (they would usually put me on both for bipolar disorder), antipsychotics, and/or anxiolytics. There never is a certain med for each disorder, they just help certain symptoms of the disorder.
