I think it looks cool :) qi.

Im going to buy one. Shame about the sleeve and all...

I bet one day,

you will be able to set up a "qi tower" just like you do with a wireless router, and phones, ipods, even laptops will have a chip built into them so they will charge within a certain range, say your house. :D just like wifi

(I also hope one day we will get wireless syncing for idevices, but its apple -.-)

This is a great idea, and it's a good thing that it's finally being released to consumers. It'll be a while before this technology really becomes popular and important, though; it won't take off like DVDs did.

No it wont, but if they get enough phone makers to put in the chips, they would get it very popular very quickly, or they will steal the idea somehow :P

This technology has actually been available to consumers for about 15 years now, it's been affordable for about 10 years.
This is nothing new. It's only just NOW starting to become popular though.

And it requires another 20 years for the technology to reach here. :P

It's been in stores for a while now, I used to see a few advertisements here and there for this. You can put multiple devices on it. Pretty neat shit.

I'm pretty sure there's another product EXACTLY like this out. I can't remember the name, but from what Energizer one looks like, it only charges iPhones or Blackberry's. This other mat was almost universal.

And then we all die from cancer. :yeah:

That seems pretty reckless for the manufacturers to make it carcinogenic. :P
