VT, give me your thoughts on David Bowie, and what you consider to be his best album.

I like his music but I only have the greatest hits album (), which is why I'm interested in some suggestions on what I should "buy".

God, I love Bowie :P

I got into his music via the children's movie Labyrinth, loved his music first but the whole androgynous look he had to him always added bonus points to his appeal to me. Even though of course I was born years and years after that classic rock period, I've always just admired how refreshing he was as an artist, very different. He had great music and an eccentric persona, especially Ziggy Stardust.

As far as albums, I'd have to say Hunky Dory, The Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust of course, and Let's Dance, though even that selection was difficult for me to weed out. I also really like some of his more recent works, but they stray a bit further from his older styles. I would stay with earlier albums for now since I see that all you have is the Best of Bowie CDs which is of course mostly 70s and 80s.

I know Hunky Dory and Stardust are two must have albums, so I'll definitely be getting those. I may take a look at other earlier albums of his, I'm not interested in his new stuff.
