This fucking album is getting so much praise. It's fucking horrible. How dare people say that Kanye is "Reinventing" rap when underground rappers have been doing this for fucking years!

The lyrics are horrible too. Like "choke a southpark writer with a fishstick"(Obviously still butthurt and needs to redeem his pathetic fucking ego) and this remarkably fucking idiotic lyric:

have you ever had sex with a pharaoh
I put the pussy in a sarcophagus
now she claiming I bruise her esophagus
head of the class and she just want a swallowship
I’m living the future so the presence is my past
my presence is a present kiss my ass

Also, pop culture references in songs just makes it horrible because in ten years most people will not even know what the fuck he's referencing. So no. That has no value over anything nor will it be something we'll look back on to say, "Wow. That really changed music and is just classic."

To the people that are not focusing on the lyrics:

And all because he's experimenting with beats doesn't make him fucking god. Yes, he's the first mainstream rapper to be concerned about the sound of his music. But he's not the first fucking rapper to be concerned about the sound of their music. This is when I come out to say, has anyone even heard of fucking Trip Hop?

All these critics are easily trolling or completely smoking too much fucking crack. This album is like The Antlers album this year, except that album was at least ok.

He's not pioneering shit.

Fuck you pitchfork and other hipster garbage magazines that spend their time gobbling on Kanye's cock.

kanye is the greatest musician alive!!!11eleveneleven!! ur a hater... But seriously. He's a trashy pissbag cockmuching microphone stealing drunk. I wouldn't pay much more attention to him or his weak-minded fan base. They're deadbeat conformists with little to absolutely no individual taste. Be happy you're not part of that group, babe. You should be celebrating.

Kanye is a mediocre rapper but a good producer with a good ear for sampling.

I dont expect much from this album (or any of his albums after Late Registration). But since he's collaborating with producers like Q-Tip, the RZA, DJ Premier and Pete Rock and has songs featuring artists like Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, Raekwon. There's definitely gonna be at least some good songs on the album.

I really wish people would stop having a personal bias towards him (positive or negative) and just listen to the music.

I cant say much more because i havent listened to it yet but i definitely will listen to it soon,

EDIT: Alright so i bought it on itunes and ive heard about 3/4 of the album so far. Just as i expected the production is good. I cant really describe the sound yet but i like it.

I see he's still basing his rap style on corny ass punchlines. He still cant sing. Some of the hooks/choruses just flat out suck (really off-putting and mainstream sounding). Also i was disappointed at some of the guest appearances.

I could always respect Kanye for being fairly original, bringing new sounds to the table and appearing have more than a third grade education (unlike most radio rappers). However he's lost some of my respect over the last few years. You can tell he's been sacrificing some quality for mainstream appeal, and this album is no different...but that's Kanye for ya and why i said i wasnt expecting much from him.

Overall, decent album. I give it a C- so far.

As for your raging at the album reviews by magazines...BIG FUCKING DEAL. Popular albums are overrated all of the time. It doesnt mean you need reject an album just because of other people's opinions. And i know im guilty of the same thing sometimes... im a recovering anti-conformist.

Well, these magazines don't know how to write reviews at all. Mainly pitchfork is who i'm bashing

One of their reviews (http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/184-i-get-wet/). Despite the horrible rating they give it, they still put the album on their top 200 albums of the decade. Isn't that just a little fucking stupid?

Hes simply more interested in making a name for himself than writting solid meaningful lyrics, hes getting what he wants though everyone is talking about him.
