Hi,
I see so many boys posting in the girl puberty forums and It really fustrates me because I cant feel comfortable with posting my question without a bunch of boys swarming my comment. So I was thinking we could have someway to pass protect the forums so the girls see what they need to see and vice versa.

As though a few thousand hormonal teenagers can keep a secret.

It is possible to have a password, but exactly how are we going to send those passwords to every user with different genders, with over 20,000 members. Then seeing if they are male and female. Point is; if you see a thread/post in that section you can report it and the thread can be moved to General Questions or if it is a post it can be deleted.

Boys are allowed to reply to threads in Girls P101 and vice versa, and that's fair enough because they can have valid and helpful comments to share.

Sometimes a question may be answered by both genders, most obviously, dick size questions can be answered by girls posting in boys puberty, and boob size questions by boys in girls puberty. :)

actually there's a new protocol:
- All members including all staff members can only answer questions in the p101 forum of their own gender.
- Staff members may post in the forum of their opposite sex for the purpose of moderation only.
- All threads asking questions about the other sex are moved to general puberty
- All posts made by a member of the opposite sex in threads where they are not the op will be deleted

Will there be an announcement about this?

It is not a good idea because sometimes boys post useful answers to girls' section and vice versa

I agree, just because a question is about girls puberty it doesnt mean a guy doesnt have the knowledge to answer or vice versa, so ultimately this will restrict the help and advice available. Why?

Threads that require male expertise/knowledge will be moved to general puberty and thus can be answered anyways, and any thread that remains in Girls' P101 after that will be threads asking questions specific to girls, aimed at girls, and frankly I don't see guys not giving advice there as any particularly significant loss. We'll get past it.
So that's that. An announcement should be up soon.

What has brought this on, is there seen to be a problem?

I considered this idea today, McMuffin, and I decided that we should keep the forums open to view for all genders. See, the Puberty section of our site is aimed at sexual education and development. Boys may gain a lot of understanding from being able to read girl's threads, and vice versa.
Now we are considering that policy of only allowing members of a certain gender to post in a certain forum - that cuts down on people replying to things they don't have any idea about. But I don't think we should password protect it, because it PREVENTS those people from becoming informed.

why not just create a sub forum which restricts the reply button to gender only, that way girls and guys who want an answer can get it in the boys/girls puberty section, and those that dont post it in the sub forum

You can change your gender on the forum, y'know.

Are people really that determined to get into the forums of the opposite sex just to make a helpful post?

You cannot do that, you can either. The options we have are:
A. Make the forum password protected. Not happening.
B. Lock the forum completely. Not happening
C. Just delete the posts in girls section or move threads that are for girls or boys only.Which is part of the new protocol anyhow.
D. Moderate every single post/thread that goes into the boys and girls sections. Which is completely worthless.
So basically; when you see a post made in either or section that isn't their gender you report it. A moderator will handle it.
