Why was Thomas banned? I think its very unprofessional of you guys to keep banning reasons taboo. I would just like to know, as he was staff.

The staff here are very smart, and often have strong reasons behind what they do.
One rule of the mods:

Is to never give out information to do with bans.

They won't, no matter how many cookies you offer them. Its up to Thomas to tell you why he was banned.

Kind of wierd to be asking about things that happened weeks before you joined, but in my opinion it would be far more unprofessional not to keep some things confidential.

I don't think bans are discussed with the public, sometimes we know why someone is banned but sometimes we don't but it's not important to us. and you just joined today, kinda weird to ask a question like that, no offense

If you where banned would you like everyone to be able to know why you where banned? That is the private information of the individual. We don't do naming and shaming here.

Actually I would. It would depend on what I did to get banned.

Who I am is irrelevant. I been reading vt for quite a long time and I jet wanted to know why.

well obviously the mods and head of VT dont see the need to release it, so i advise you drop it, they have their reasons, and i bet you could find a million reasons against theirs, but lets face it, it happened before you joined, has nothing to do with you and they wont change their minds

We don't publicise bans mainly because firstly it causes attention to an area of VT that we really don't want people to see members as e.g. members getting banned, we'd much rather you came on here and not have to worry about decisions staff made. We also don't publicise bans because its unfair on the individual - they've got the ban for the reason why make it worse.

I disagree.

Thats your opinion. But that is not how the site staff have chosen to run this site. Disagree? The little red "X" on the top of your browser can take care of that for you.

well is he banned for good? Permantely. He was banned for a day before. Can you at least tell me that.

It really shows you're true colours. You guys banned 2 admins, and 2 global mods. Loyalty to the site means pig slop.

Seems you have been watching for a while there. Just digging yourself a bigger hole. Making you look guilty. It doesn't matter if you want to know or not. The staff here have a strict protocol. If you cannot handle something that is clearly none of your business then please by all means leave. If you have a problem with anything I'm saying PM me. The banning reasons are there for the safety of the member. It's particularly none of any member that isn't staffs business why someone gets banned unless stated by a hierarchy staff otherwise.

Are you sure you're a new person?

Loyalty to the site means senior staff sticking to the rules, which they should know better than anyone. If they break a rule, and it must be something fairly serious to warrant a ban rather than just getting demodded or frozen, then they have to take the penalty the same as any other user.

Why do I have this morbid feeling that you are Thomas himself(or acquaintance of him)?

It's not, lol. Thomas isn't that immature.

In any case as Calum said make yourself comfortable because you're gonna be here a while if you think anything else will be said. He was banned for a reason and that reason is not going to be shared. If you've been here that long then i guess you can ask Thomas himself.

Afraid to say who you are out loud dear?
If you got nothing to hide, you'll have no problems telling us. It is relevent as soon as the question was asked, you fail to give us a straight answer.

In my opinion, you are not worth our time. Considering the fact that you joined two days ago, and you are arguing about the banning of someone that we all cared for dearly shows you're not new. It was a hard decision for all of the bans, and yes we have to live with the fact they happened. If you think we liked doing that at all, then you might as well leave. They did something to deserve it, we didn't just take a pistol and shoot them in the back.

Loyalty to the site means respecting the rules. Just because we are staff members doesn't mean we're above the rules. Hell, we have more rules. The fact is that being loyal to the site also means respecting everyone and the rules. Have fun pondering this. You have better things to do with your time, I assure you.
