okay, my parents now know that I have depression, not the way I wanted them to find out... (my friend told her mum who rang my mum and told her.... awkard) but now luckly my parents are getting me help. They have been talking about counsalers (I know thats spelt wrong, sorry I cant spell...) but I am scared, what should I expect to be asked or talked about if I go to a counsular? I dont know anything about it... :( any suggestions or advice?

Okay I understand why you are worried when I started therapy (much easier to spell than counseling btw) I was also worried as hell! Luckily my worries were all proven false. My therapist is very nice and has lots of different techniques to help me cope with my depression. One of the first things you may talk about is well....you! They will want to find out what may be causing the depression and if it is situational or chemical. Mostly you will end up talking about your life and what is going on in it currently. I have one suggestion for you that will make your therapy go really well and it may seem obvious but be completely and totally honest! It will make the process of getting help go as smooth as possible! If you have any questions I will be more than happy to answer them! good luck!

Well, the counselor will probably ask about your depression. They'll probably talk about how long you've been feeling like that, maybe symptoms and such. You can tell them anything you'd like. You don't have to tell them everything but they're confidential so it's nice to have someone to talk to to get things off of your mind. You can tell them about yourself, your life, any concerns you have about mental health or your depression, etc. They're really there to listen to whatever you feel like disclosing to them. I know it can be a little nerve-wracking to see your first counselor, but they're there to help you. It's very normal to be worried about it. I'd give you more about a first appointment, but my first therapist I had when I was nine so I don't really remember much about that part of it :P But I have been in therapy since (nine years) and it's definitely nothing to be too worried over.
If there's anything else you'd like to ask/talk about, you can always contact me :)
