Yes, I know there are several and its getting repetetive but I have a question.

I have only ever played COD twice, both at a mates. I really want to get Black Ops on the 360.

However I don't have Xbox live gold at the moment. I am wondering is it worth paying $100 for Black Ops, another $80 for a 12 month Gold subscription ( I don't want any of that 3 month rip-off crap) and then find out that everyone else playing online are COD freaks and I will just get constantly owned every single match?:what:

If you're good you don't need them.

Tbh if you're not sure why not just borrow or rent a copy from somewhere and use a 3 month gold subscription to test it. If you like it and feel you'll use it then buy it along with the 12 month gold, theres no point buying both on other peoples opinions of the game, its what you individually like.

Thats a good idea actually, I hadnt considered renting a copy. Although I bet that would be extremely hard at the moment with the game in high demand.

Maybe I'll rent modern warfare and practice on that...

Dont
two completely different game types
and black ops gives you a training thing anyway where you fight AI oponents in a team of AI

Guess who hasn't had shitty servers because of Black Ops? Usssssssssss. I can log onto LIVE, play my Bad Company 2 or Reach, and the Xbox LIVE servers function just fine. I can go watch some ESPN, download shit off the Zune Markeplace if I wanted, watch a movie with my amici, or I can cross game chat with my amici without experiencing any lag.

That is, if you're a cheapskate like me. My mother would kill me if I spent even a meager amount on video games, aside from the console and a few games itself. :P

What'dyou expect? Microsoft owns them and technically they are more advanced in server hosting. It's run by Nerds :P

XBOX is the "King's Company" and PSN is the " Folks Company" thats it.
PSN is made just for gaming, I have no idea why you need an xbox live account to watch a movie.
And there is also chat at PSN

PS3 is one off investment, sure obviously you have to buy games if you want to play but once you have the black box your set to go.

Xbox to get true enjoyment had a long line of On-going costs (decent HDD, Live, Headset, Wi-fi etc) and for an extra 100 quid they've started adding in these things to the new Microsoft black box that likes to eat discs, with the continuous on-going cost of Live which was recently increased in price this year I believe.

Another CoD question.

Does it count as a loss when Activision rapes itself and shuts the game down under the excuse of host migration ?

Black ops isn't $100.. It's only $60.

Shite...
60 dollars is around 90 Turkish lira.
But it is sold for 180 Turkish lira here, damn

Thats inflation for yah.

Life would be so much easier if we created one super currency that was accepted anywhere, and had a fixed value.

for you maybe
but look at the difference

Your Location: Detroit, Michigan

OP's Location: Australia

there gonna cost different amounts for different currencies

and can we get off the currency discussion since it doesnt have anything to do with the question other than how much it costs HIM not us
