View Full Version : Tattoo On Knuckles?

I'm thinking about getting TWLOHA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TWLOHA) tattooed on my knuckles. I'm 15 and have never gotten a tattoo before.

It would be spaced out as TWL on my right knuckles(excluding pinky and thumb).

And the OHA would be on my left knuckles(also excluding the pinky and thumb).

I'm wondering if anyone here has gotten a tattoo on their knuckles before, and if so, how permanent is it?

I ask this because I know people say that certain places(palms mainly) are not good places to get tattoos because they will fade after a while.

Thanks:D

All tats fade after awhile, but it's best to assume they're permanent, since removing them is a bitch.

knuckle ones always strike me as really really.. trashy, prsonally

Also you're 15, good luck getting an artist to do it.

Thanks. And I consider myself to be a little trashy lol

Well, like Kyle said, it'll be permanent, but all tattoos fade a little after a while. But you have to remember, getting a job will probably become more complicated, lots of jobs don't want you to have any visible tattoos, or ones that you can't cover up with clothing. But if you want to do it, and know the consequences do it. :)

Knuckle tattoos just scream "I want attention." You're fifteen. Wait until you're more mature before you settle on getting a tattoo- that shit is permanent, and depending on their visibility, it'll probably affect your future employment options.

I don't get why you'd do this, unless you're MAJORLY into doing things for that organization.

You help yourself and don't mind other people's opinions, just remember that it's permanent and be aware of the consequences of that. Even if I say you're young for getting one and it's not that great of an idea, you help yourself.

I don't think you should do it. I disagree with getting tattoos on the face and hands. There's no way you could hide any tattoo like that from an employer, and that could cost you more than a few jobs.

Even though that is a worthwhile cause, I think you could come up with a much more artistic and beautiful tattoo. What would you rather have? A beautiful picture that highlights your body, like stars and music notes showering down from your neck and across your torso to your backside, or a few letters on your hands? Just think, you could have so much better. Give it time - tattoos last forever, so there's no rush to get them when you're 15, or even 18.

Stars and musical notes are typically girl tattoos. And I'm not talking awesome girl tattos (http://quotes.whyfame.com/files/2010/09/kat_von_d.jpg), I'm talking obnoxious-valley-girl stuff that doesn't really mean anything.

Okay, really, who gives a fuck. It's better than some cheap-ass series of letters. Also, why does a shape have to be assigned to a certain gender? Finally, those shapes can have significant meanings to people, too, and I was just trying to give an example of something creative and artistic - it wasn't even a recommendation - rather than a few boldface letters on a body part you can't cover up.

It's extremely explicit, in a very seenable place. I wouldn't recommend it.

There's no need for this to get heated. I'm just saying that, generally, stars and musical notes are pretty common and uninteresting as far as tattoos go.

Because that's how people think whether anyone likes to acknowledge it or not. Generally, you'll find far more girls with stars and musical note tattoos than guys. That's a fact.

I think a "cheap-ass series of letters" is the best tattoo you could get. Words, at least for me, can have more meaning than a star. Unless this star happens to be a religious symbol, it's just a geometric shape.

Would I get TWLOHA tattoed? Hell no. Not on my knuckles too. I support TWLOHA greatly. But I would never get that tattoed on me. Usually the TWLOHA supporters get something like a decorative "love" tattoed on their arm, which is a pretty safe tattoo I'd imagine.

Sometime before my 19th birthday, I'm getting my wrist tattoed. Just simple script. But it'll be a "series of letters." I guess that's not for everyone huh? :P "Where the curtain falls, another rises."

I've wanted this tattoo since I was 14. That's when you know you should get the tattoo. When you know you're certain of it, that it's not a spur of the moment thing.

Edit: Oh, and also, you wouldn't be able to get a tattoo anyway. The New York age limit is 18, regardless of parental consent. A licensed tattoo artist will probably not do it since it is illegal, and it's still illegal for someone who isn't licensed to give you one.

Maybe I'm just odd.

A star could also be a political symbol, like a red communist star or something akin to the Confederate flag. But, I think it's safe to say that most people who get star tattoos don't intend to be that deep.

I don't understand why your comment came out randomly from the side and made no effort to actually answer the poster's question.

Still think you're marginalizing it. All I'm doing is speaking against a few letters, no matter how they're stylized, and suggest something else.
