This has been a major issue with me for at least a year now. I have a really tough time being motivated to do my homework, unless I REALLY find the assignment interesting. Usually, when I DO do my homework, I end up doing it at two AM in the morning. A lot of my homework I do online, because my writing is so terrible, and that doesn't help me. It gets distracting. Whenever I think about doing things like homework, I get an anxious feeling and go back to whatever the fluff I was doing.

Any suggestions, VT?

Money, revenge, insanity, the victim fits a profile.

I am oh so confused about this post. I'm talking about myself.

Sounds like someone didn't even read the first post.

OP, I suggest you make a new account on your computer, with no access to games, movies, music, and files you have saved, or things like that. Do your homework on that account, and be sure to unplug your blue internet cable when you're on it. Computers are great for productivity, if not chock full of distractions.

I'm glad I got a reply from you, as it was an older thread of yours that inspired me to post this. Though, an issue with the internet thing is that my connection is wireless, and my brother would blow a fuse if the internet was turned off.

I have the same problem. im always on here, facebook, emailing, and typing something. Unless it's for AVID, my homework never gets done. I type everything up and email it to my teachers because 1. my handwriting sucks, and 2. i hate wasting shitloads of paper on school.

You and I are in the same boat matt. I'm failing my AP calss cuz i dont do hw, and i have a's b's and c's(3 of these..) in the rest...

Then stay afterschool to work on computers in your school library, or go to the public library, or somewhere devoid of distraction. Many of my teachers let me stay in class well into the night for homework.

Tim basically has this covered.

Get yourself away from all distractions, and just focus everything you have onto that assignment. If you can't stay focused, then ask for help from someone. Stay after school, get help from a parent, do it during study halls or throughout other classes when you have free time.

I have this problem too, in fact, I'm having it right now...
Basically, everyone else's advice has been right - get away from distraction.
Also, try to take the attitude of "if I don't do it now, it's more shit to do later", which usually makes me do it when it HAS to be done :P
I tend to set myself time limits as well, I'll say things like "before 6pm, I will have done *this* *this* and *this*" cuz I find planning and setting myself targets like that useful.

Good luck getting stuff done :)

I have that problem too

Just think, if you don't do your homework, you'll fail. (well maybe not but it's possible)

do your homework and get it over with. then you can do whatever you want.

I don't know what else to say since I have the same problem as you (though I never stay up till 2 am) but good luck

Peace God

Shit, i do the same thing all time.

If you're doing homework in your room and you keep on getting distracted, my best piece of advice is Get the Fuck Outta There. For me, i go the library or computer lab at my school but since you probably dont have one that you can access all day you might wanna go over to your local public library.

That hasn't stopped me at all so far.

Alright, thanks people. I'll go to my library.
