You can break your hymen a long time before you have sex and without doing anything sex related, doesn't make you any less virginal than someone who hasn't broken theirs.

I just can't imagine having fingering or oral sex class as a loss of virginity? Especially not fingering because you can do it to yourself if you wanted. Vaginal intercourse is something you can't really simulate, because you need a vagina for it :P
I don't know though... My friend who's a lesbian talks about fingering being her virginity. I didn't really give it much thought, but I just don't quite find it plausible.

Why is it obvious?
I believe that probably until not all that long ago (possible altered recently to not exclude homosexual/bisexual people??? or has it?) that the definition of losing your virginity is when you first have sexual intercourse. Sexual intercourse is defined as penis in vagina.
