Psychedelic music...
Anyone like it? hate it?...
Pretty broad term, but i guess that's a good thing. I'm mostly talking about rock here but this thread can include any type of Psychedelic or Psychedelically influenced music.
Discuss, post songs etc...

Other than normal rock. I consider Raga rock as one form of Psychedelic music too; and pretty much anything from the late 60's. You should try Pond's offshoots(500mg, Hash Jar Tempo, Alesehir and etc).
You might have heard of Acid Mother's Temple, but you might want to check this article out: Click me (http://noise.as/jpsyc). Talks about the Psychedelic scene in Japan.

As I was suggested to hear out Pink Floyd's first Album, and if you did listened to that, then I'd suggest Third Ear Band. Similar in some way.

I never thought Tool as a psych band, despite having A. Grey Album covers and drug-related titles(like Rosetta Stoned and The Pot).
Great ones, good finds, I am going to add them. 13th floor elevators is a good band.
Have you picked this? The album cover is self explanatory of its psychedelic origin.(it says stereo, but its not unfortunately.

We just have the tendency on not to list bands that are already listed here: Click me (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jam_band).
Because it gives me that feeling that "Oh, look, he doesn't even know that band, he just found it in wiki... bullshit, he doesn't even like the music, he just pretends to like it to show off and etc. etc."... got me? Even though I got most of the bands on some other places. :P

Psychedelic is a broad term with diff meanings to diff people, but i gotta say im a purist. Pink Floyd, early stuff like their first album man, "Piper at the Gates of Dawn", that is straight up psychedelic. A group called Traffic. Their first few songs were visual if ya know what i mean. Even some industrial moves me as psychedelic....some only. Jimi Hendrix could make ya see every note he played.

It's a shame that you only know Pink Floyd. When there are underrated experimental groups, like this one to compare to Pink Floyd early works:
7NP0Y6rQBIk
The British psych music were more experimental, unlike their American counter-part. But not all were like that, though.
You see, the follow the same steps as the Americans hippie non-psychedelic driven music.

K71uYiCriHE
Even though the Psychedelic rock scence sparked different kind of genres. Like Metal(which branched into other things) and Progressive Rock(which also got branched into many other things)
The current psychedelic music is inspired by Krautrock(German underground movement) and Spacerock, by the likes of Amon Duul and Ash Ra Temple.

There are two kind of Psychedelic rock bands. The one that uses regular rock style, but it's main theme is being in a trip - that's the first one, and this one was prevalent in the Sixties mostly, some modern bands are going to that step(Tame Impala is an example).
The next generation of Psychedelic rock bands aims differently. From the Japanese bands and Krautrock, did they came. These bands try to virtualize the trip via sound effect of fuzzy guitars. And to be honest, I like this one more than the former one, because this is more on improvisation and effect manipulation made by guitars and other instruments -- naturally, it give you the feeling of trip without actually taking any drugs.
Psychedelic Folk has a similar approach, sometimes.
Finally! The put them on youtube! But I don't want this track, man.
Guys, this is my favourite album, ever.
