the last sleep post shocked my memory..
ok here's my question..
is it normal not to be tired AT all?? just after like um 1 hour a sleep each night and never be tired?? is that bad for me?? would it be ok to not sleep at all and not fall asleep during the day time?? is that enough sleep?? if i go to sleep and wake up after like 1 hour of sleeping on my own with no alarm clocks or anything, is that enough?? how many hours of sleep does a teenage, age 14, need??
cause so far.. i haven't slept in like 3 days and i'm not tired at all right now.. i actualy think i can go all week without sleep..
do i need to go to the doctors??

Ok, ok... I just looked on Wikipedia, and this is what it says:
It is often caused by fear, stress, anxiety, medications, long afternoon naps, herbs or caffeine.
Do you have any of these?? or consume them??

October 28th, 2006, 10:47 AM
nope none.. i may be stressed sometimes but i fall asleep longer then normal when i'm stressed out.. and fear.. yea alot of fear.. i'm sleeping in the same room i saw the most abusive behavior and the most place i was abused.. so yea can that cause it?? i think so cause when i sleep at my dad's house i sleep fast and long for like 8-12 hours

You could seriously die or get injured if you stayed up to long like a week.

i don't drink caffine.. only caffine i could have is soda and i don't like soda.. my step dad forced me to drink soda all the time.. now i hate it and i don't live with my mom or dad.. thank god.. well my dad's cool but my mom well i know this is bad but i hate her.. i live with my grandparents and they said i live in a good neighborhood and we can't move.. i live right next to the police station and i don't think it's a good neighborhood since the cops didn't suspect a thing when my step dad was here.. and i ask to sleep downstairs.. upstairs in the attic and even outside in a tent.. i still get barely no sleep at all.. and so what if i die from no sleep?? i really don't care if i die or not..

I wish I could have pills to sleep sometimes. I frequently suffer from insomnia in the summer, but it's different. During the summer, I let my sleep schedule get completely out-of-whack, usually being awake between 12 pm and 4-6 am. The downside is that when I try to sleep, it's often very difficult. My personal insomnia remedy is hot chocolate and a good book for twenty or thirty minutes, but it varies for everyone. Try to find something that will usually leave a blank in your mind afterward.

Wow same here... last summer I would stay until like 5-6 am chatting with my cousin, friends who never get online and stuff... I did that for like a month, and my sleeping times were sooooo messed up... I would go to sleep at 5 or 6 and wake up at like 11... it was really scary... then my mom started taking my computer to her room to make sure I don't use it anymore, and then I started reading like crazy... but like crazy... I read Da Vinci's Code (this was the first time I read a serious book in italian ) in like 5 nights, I read Angels And Demons in a week, then I read a whole trilogy of books my mom had, each one in like a week... then I started to read the Harry Potter series again... I was reading like crazy, and I couldn't beleive it... but now that I'm into magic, and now more than ever I'm really serious about it, I'll stay until like 11 pm playing around with my cards and practicing... I should upload a video

I can read up to +50 books a year...

it is essential to get the right amount of sleep per night. It isnt normal for you not to be tired. You need to find out the exact reason why you arent feeling tired and getting only an hour of sleep
October 30th, 2006, 01:55 PM
man you're lucky - i feel tired nearly all the time even with 6-8 hours sleep a night

I read this article once that was about these people who could fully operate on much less sleep than other people and remained energetic etc. I think it was a genetic thing, they found the same trait in mice aswell i think.
However, I'm pretty sure even they needed more than only one hour of sleep, that sounds unhealthy. The abuse thing probably has something to do with it... maybe you should speak to a school councillor or psyc or someone like that.

Also you mentioned the police next door basically... go tell them about the abuse

This is how it works:
Say your mind is a computer, with 2GB of RAM. To clear the RAM at any point, all you need to do is perform a system restart. However, you keep on starting new processes, day after day, not shutting down (and clearing the RAM) once. Eventually, you'll run out of RAM and you won't be able to start any new processes. You'll stop working. Your mind will break down. You'll go mad!
People who don't get to sleep for long periods of time run out of short-term memory; and they go mad! You should see a doctor, he'll prescribe something to sort it out, it could be anything from pills, to a machine that helps you breathe, to hypno-therapy. Good luck!
