Hey guys, I've gotten some good advice here before and I hope you guys can help.

Basically awhile ago something really embarrassing happened (I'm not going to say what) and of course I was pretty upset about it, but I've just been so paranoid ever since it happened since my friends have proof of it happening and I'm really scared of what might happen with it. I'm really sick of being so sensitive over stuff like this but I really can't stop. I literally wake up every morning thinking about it and I can never relax because of it. I've tried talking to my friends plenty of times about it but they just tell me to chill out like it's not a big deal, or they just get mad because I've bugged them about it. I really cannot seem to get over it and I'm just so sick of it all.

I am feeling similarly now but for a different reason.
You have, IMO, two options

1) Let time heal. The longer it is since the incident, the less you'll feel. You will gradually relax again eventually although it might not be an easy/simple process.

2) Take more action. If you're really not getting over it and constantly tenses up over it, then be more assertive in getting something done to destroy this evidence or talk in a serious nature to your friends (without getting too upset if possible).

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice! I do seem to sort of get over it, but then someone will bring it back up and just ruin it for me...

You're welcome :D
Yeah, I hate that.
It's the worst when it's someone who doesn't understand/doesn't care.
They usually say something like "hey, are you still with _____?" or something trivial.
Then it's like the brain works over time and you start thinking about EVERYTHING to do with them - including the fact that you miss them so much etc.
