All right. I don't know what to think of my PC, I don't know if it's great with newer games or not. But I do believe it's old. Likewise I could play some new games at decent speed. What do you guys think? Here's my specs:

OS- Windows 7 64-bit (kind of nice touch though)
Processor- Athlon 64 Dual Core 5000+ (2.6GHz)
RAM- 2 Gig
Graphics Card- Nvidia Geforce 8200 (882 MB) (1400x900x64)
Hard Drive- only 150 GB, I presume.

And I'm an Acer guy. :P

and I need games. I need fairly old (maybe in the time period of 2000-2006), but still good games. I'm sick of playing Command and Conquer 3 on frame-by-frame speed (especially if there are a lot of objects being rendered on-screen). Any suggestions?

I'd recommend getting more RAM and a new graphics card — those seem to be the weak points in your system. I think your processor is fine. However, that graphics card won't be able to handle newer games — if you have the money, get yourself a Nvidia 9800GT (I'm assuming you like Nvidia :P)

You're gonna need at least 4GB of RAM to handle the newest games on the market. Actually, 4GB is good for pretty much anything.

No, actually it can play recent games.

Here is my spec.

OS -Win XP pro Sp2
Processor - Pentium IV
Ram - 512 MB DDRI
GFX Card - Nvidia Geforce 5200 FX (256 MB)
HDD - 80 GB only.

It is mine that should be playing games from around 2000 - 2006.

If you are a C&C fan, you should try Generals and its expansion pack Zero Hour - there are two famous mods, the Gold Mod and the Reborn Mod.

I used to play this game day and night, nonstop. It is a fun game. I used to play as GLA, killing the American and Chinese infidels.

Half Life - just get it and play it. But I bet you have already done that. One of the best and early Horror-FPS, it is next to System Shock.

NFS: Underground - pretty awesome game if you like racing games. It will work nice and smoothly on your PC.

Silent Hill 2 - this is a decent thriller- S.horror game that you should get.

Starcraft, the very first if you want to be cost efficient or Warcraft III, but I guess you have that too.

I presume you already have morrowind, then go for FFVII, this will make jrpg gaming a bit more nicer on PC

I'm not actually looking forward to upgrading my system actually. Gfx Cards and other system parts are forbiddingly hard to come by here, and if I managed to find them they're still forbiddingly expensive. (For example, a cheap 1 gig RAM costs about 53 USD, or 2300 pesos. I couldn't even make 500 in my weekly allowance ;_; ). We only increased our RAM from a nice guy who let us buy his used memory. :P

I want sadder, older games to actually fill in the void inside of me. :D

Yes it could, but sadly it barely gives of a decent frame rate whenever I play even on medium.

I have Generals, and all of its mods actually. I am fond of playing as China and GLA. And I also own Half-Life and Starcraft. I'm pissed at the low-res gameplay at starcraft.

I don't have Morrowind, but I am looking forward to play. I don't like FFVII and all its japo-cultured plays. :P

Coming from a city where we have electronics warehouses the size of Wal-Mart, I feel very sorry for you.

You could play plenty of awesome older games on that system. Ever played Rise of Nations?

Well of course, though I experienced epic slowdowns when my pc was still a one gig-er. I found the french very smooth to play as. :P

I was looking for more, well, I wanted RPGs and RTSs. My gaming library's stunk.

Yeah, I'm sure there are plenty of older RPGs/RTSs that you could play.

Try Knights of the Old Republic or a Civ game. Those are fun. :P

I never was a Star Wars fan, but I dunno. I have Empire at War (which was ¨¨cool for me at that time, but was destroyed by my marauding mongol classmates ._.), but I wanted to try something new. Could you play as Sith?

Yes. Once you get through the beginning, you can either be part of the light side or the dark side. But I mean, you don't work for the Sith.
