what computer do you have. (for exampledell xps123124311). You need to know the modle number and then you can find out what kind you need. Also how much ram do you have right now and what do you use your computer for mostly.(gaming surfing the internet ect.)

Open the side of the computer and look at the RAM slots. I'm going to assume your computer has a limit of 1gb and it takes the standard PC3200.

Look at the RAM slots. There will be at least one notch somewhere on the slot. If there is one, then you need DDR. If there is two, then you need SDRAM.

just incase you were unable to figure it out. You have DDR-SDRAM, and acording to the hp spec sheet you only have two dimm slots, which would mean you have one free slot. If you just surf the internet and you want to save money just get another 256 stick. Though i would suggest you get more.
