Bullying, apparently suffering from bulimia, and the airport altercation? What do you think is going on with Demi and why does it seem that child/young teen Disney stars can't handle their fame or always fall to some meltdown?
Demi has recently said she's been bullied, suffers from bulimia and got into an altercation with another girl at the airport where she completely lost it. She's dropped her tour with the Jonas Brothers and is now in a treatment facility.
She's only 18, that's quite a bit of drama. What are your thoughts on the whole thing or is it just another story blown out of proportion by the media?

Here's (http://www.examiner.com/cable-tv-in-national/disney-star-demi-lovato-drops-out-of-concert-tour-and-seeks-treatment) a link.
If it's true then I feel bad for her, even though I've never really liked her or any of the other Disney stars. No one deserves to go through that and if she chose to get help herself then she's a strong person. I definitely have a hard time understanding how someone can seemingly have everything anyone could want yet be so unhappy with their lives.

I find it incredibly sad.
The pressures are probably unimaginable though. I'm happy with my normal teen life. Money would be great but no amount is worth the unhappiness and stress some of these young celebs seem to go through. Plus I don't think I'd want the entire world, or most of the world, knowing my business.

You can have everything but still feel completely empty. Money doesn't fix everything no matter how much people want it to.

I also heard she self-harmed as a child and recently started again or something like that. :(

I think that 'child stars' as they have been labelled have to deal with a lot of pressure in their lives.
Imagine how you would cope if your whole life basically turned into one big media story? You'd probably have issues too.
Also, the media do tend to emphasise people's problems like no one in the world has ever had an eating disorder or self harmed before. It's debatable whether this is a good thing or not, because although it raises awareness it could also be stressful for the individual who is being referred to.
I could go on forever about this in relation to children's parents who let them go through this - if they're making choices to put their children in the spotlight etc.

I know wouldn't want the whole world to know i had an eating disorder and that i cut, so i feel sorry for her for this, but as Fact said it's not like no one has ever had a problem with this before and the media shouldn't focus on it so much.
