Behind Glass Walls

Trapped behind glass walls,
Kindred of opalescence,
One can pretend there is
An escape when there is none.
There is fantasy, there is hope,
But there is—escape
There is none.

Look for a crack,
Slam the fist hard
Against the lineage
Of crystallized indecision,
Break down what cannot
Be broken down,
Disintegrate the immitigable.

Surrounded by transparency,
Illusion of freedom,
Where has the time gone?
Break down the glass walls,
Shatter the hope,
The hope that cannot be broken,
Unbind the ties that were once eternal.

When the glass walls
Appear cracked and ready
To crumble and
A saintly savior
Appears on the other side,
Words spoken
To the perceptible elucidator,
Edge up against the glass
Only to curve one hundred eighty degrees
And echo back into
The speaker’s unwilling ears.
