After debating this in health class and thinking about how a mother of 6 already, even before her 8 baby's, Do you think it should even be legal for he to keep or have the injections for fertility. Even with her 6 young children she was unemployed and was living on public assistance programs.

So question is Should it be allowed to let someone have more children when they already have children ( 6 in her case) and still be able to have injections for fertility knowing that the chances for twins, triplets, or even octuplets.

She has the freedom to have those babies, but if she can't afford them she doesn't have the right to keep them.

I don't believe people who continue to have children while knowing they are unable to support them should be given any type of government support.

No, I just said she shouldn't. Why should taxpayers have to pay for a woman stupid enough to have 8 children and no money?

Ok, I read your post the wrong way, sorry. I agree with you. I just wanted to see if I was the only one that thought this, because in my health class the majority agreed that she should have government help and that she didn't have control of the situation. Which I think is absolute crap, I don't know what these people are thinking but if, we keep giving people like her hand outs, more and more people are going to realize, "Hey she gets free government hand outs, why can't I" and boom, the cycle starts over and there is another person on our governments hand out list.

This sums up my stance on the issue. Legally speaking she's entitled to have as many bloody bitches and bastards as she can pop out, but in my own personal opinion, nobody should have that many children- at least, not all under their roof alone.

if you can't support kids by yourself:

(a) you shouldn't expect the state to support you
(b) you are already failing as a parent before the child is even born

Unless she knows that she can provide adequate protection, shelter, food, education, whatever. Unless she wants a fully-fledged soccer team-family, I concur. No one can support that many children, given that she's not a monarch of England or a High-Ranking magnate of some sort.

well to be honest, if she is able to provide for all her children I don't really see the problem.

my two cents, sorry

Yes, well that would be fine, but the fact that she is unemployed and getting government help. I think that the children deserve better.

She was stupid for having the injection when she already had six kids. It's her own fault that it happened, so she definitely doesn't deserve aid from the government. You have the right to have as many kids as you want, but they shouldn't have let her had the injection knowing that she could barely provide for them.

There's a point where welfare ends and handouts being. One of the things I don't like about being grouped with the "liberals" is that a lot of them are obsessed with giving money to the stupidest of people.

I personally wouldn't call you a liberal, Because I've seen your views on a few topics and they aren't very liberal at all. You just have a different look at it.

I'm not the kind of liberal that most Americans are familiar with. I'm socially left, but economically I could be libertarian/centrist for all I know. I like capitalism and all the benefits associated with it. When they decided to build a huge new freeway here in Houston a few years ago, I supported it. Sure, it's not the greatest thing for the environment, but it's completely transformed the local economy. I think Microsoft is a great corporation. I'm in favor of constructing new nuclear power plants. And, of course, I dislike the new healthcare bill. Make from it what you will.

Im the same with economical standpoint. Yes, Freeways and highways are not great on the environment, but you do what you gotta do. Not only are you making it easier for people to commute but it also opens up jobs for people for the building of the freeways and highways. I don't dislike the idea of the health care bill, But I dislike the way it has become and what they have done with it and how fast President Obama pushed it down our throats.

However, I only support building highways that look nice too. I don't want ugly concrete everywhere, there have to be trees and grass too. Good for the environment and raises property values.

Also, I blame both parties.

But we're off topic :P Anyway, when it comes to the Octomom, she deserves no welfare. It's her responsibility to fend for her own children, since she knew of her financial situation and went ahead with the IVF anyway. Welfare is only appropriate in certain circumstances, when it's abused like this it shouldn't be continued for those who abuse it.

Yes, Now do you think Social Services should check in with her or keep an eye out, because if she has 14 kids and no job and living off welfare Im sure they don't have all need. Food, water, check ups (doctors visits) I can't see how she still has the children

If they have proper reasoning to do so — the lack of funds that you described is a valid reason — then yes, they should.

I feel for those children as they mostly likely won't grow up as a normal kid will and will be in the media that should stay out of there family matters.

octomom is awesome

I beg to differ. I'm glad you think a person who is basically stealing from our government is awesome.
