Today we watched a movie in school. It was about a thirteen year old girl that gets into drugs and all that stuff.
There was this scene where she cut herself and I got really uncomfortable because it felt like everyone was looking at me, I almost started crying. I felt like somehow everyone knew that I cut myself.
Do anyone else get that feeling?? Or am I just paranoid?

Well unless you make it obvious you cut yourself then they probably werent looking at you, its ok i feel like that too whenever we watch people cutting themselves or doing drugs at school. even though i know there not,
Unfortunatly this is something we have to live with so dont worry about it.
Im always here to talk if you want to *hug* xx

... Was the film called Thirteen by any chance? :P
Anyways, I get that a lot, when someone mentions cutting or "emo," I get really uncomfortable.

That's just what I was thinking :P
I love the movie, and thought I'd be fine when my friend wanted to watch it one night. It was the most uncomfortable thing to be there, since this friend knows that I self-harm. Sucked like hell. Doesn't help that I used to be a drug addict either, but since I'm over that, it's the self-harm scenes that bother me when I'm watching it with others.

I'm sorry that you felt like people were looking at you. If you have not told anyone and and if you hide it then I'm sure they were not looking at you.

Chances are as everyone said, they weren't looking at you.
You'd be surprised just how much people overlook things.
In reality, most scars only look as obvious to us, because we know they're there.
Perfectly common feeling as everyone said, and of course the only way to get rid of it, is to stop cutting
:hug3:

As everyone else has said really, chances are they weren't looking at you
I feel the same though, if I dont wear a jacket and people look straight at my arm, I'm convinced they've seen, but they never do.
And people who dont understand what its like joke about SH and stuff, really annoys me when they are like that

Yeah. They prbly werent looking at you.
Just like other people said, it annoys me when people make stupid cutting motions across their wrist or say "your emo".
Don't let it worry you. Just try to keep a cool head and a straight face.

I think it's totally normal to feel this way when you self harm. You're constantly worried someone knows, or that people are looking at you like you're a freak. It's something I think everyone who self harms has felt, so you're definitely not alone.
As for the rude remarks about self harm, I find it best just to ignore them. People are going to be immature, and there's nothing you can do about it. They're just ignorant, and for that I actually feel sorry for them. Don't let their remarks get to you, they're not worth it.
