Do you think we should advertise ourselves? Most of the teens find this forum when they type sexual stuff, but what about other teens ? Surely, there are those out there who've been searching a forum which has a depression section or something about music but couldn't find any result..

Well, actually, how did we all find this forum?
I think originally Alex had found this site through searching for a mental illness forum to join. VT can be easily found through search engines.
EDIT: Upon checking, Google lists VT first when you search for "self harm forum," and it's the second listed when you search "teen forum"

I found it looking for help with depression.
and no, I don't think we should over advertise,
peoples personal lives are on here, and it's not right.

???
We would just have a small window " VirtualTeen.org ! Your forum for teenage problems ! "
Why would it be harmful for members ?

that's not the url for one.
and secondly, pottentially.
it's the same reason the facebook page got turned down,
it's a help forum, that's growing enough as it is.

Then we would write ".org".
But after you think twice, Natalie may be right.

Virtualteen is a comfort zone for many people on this website. One where they can escape the problems of their personal lives and get help with them as well. Many people post some very deep stories that they prefer to keep secret here. There is always a chance that someone they know could find this place, but seeing as it is not a sight for profit it is a bit redundant to advertise anyway.
Those who need the help will find it in their own manner.

I found it looking for self harm forums.
There's no need to adveritse, if someone was looking for help, they'll find this site. It wasn't hard for me to find.

These two answers sum it up. Search engines are working, its not all about p101.
