Walking is the oldest form of transportation. It's all-natural and non-polluting, and if the weather's right, it's actually fun. I live in Houston, where walking is generally impossible, except on awesome days like this when the weather's just right.

So, tell us if you walk/hike/bike, VT, and post pics of your local trails n' parks. Pics related.

Great pics. I walk a lot, don't ride bikes or stuff much. If I lived in town I'd walk all over the place all the time, but I live out in the middle of nowhere, and I kinda like it out here. :)

I would walk more if walking in Houston weren't like swimming in lava. Today, however, is an exception: it's a beautiful day today, the kind of day that we Houstionians take pride in

Since I live in the suburbs everything's a 5 to 15 minute walk — food, groceries, school, ect.

By the way, I took these pictures with my phone :P they're not great

Because of where I live, you can't walk anywhere, as there is nothing really to walk to, other than a grocery store, DQ, and some other small stores. If I lived in my hometown in Ireland, I'd walk everywhere.... well there's nowhere to park anyway.

I enjoy walking and running, in fact i do it whenever I can, and when the weather is right. :)

I enjoy walking to places when I get the opportunity, however I live out in the middle of nowhere, at least 20-25 minutes away (by car) from the nearest town so most of the time unless I'm visiting a particular city/area, walking is out of the question.

Actually, swimming is the oldest form of transportation. That aside, I love walking in big cities- I'm talking like Seattle and New York, really giant places like that. It's easy to miss out on so many things when you're speeding along in a metal carriage. I love these big streets they have in some towns, with no cars, just a big open stretch of cobblestones or bricks for people to walk around on.

Aye, I know what you mean. Been to Houston once, tried going for a walk, almost died. Too used to California weather even after a couple weeks of Houston. Kinda strange.

I rarely walk...at least outside. The only times I walked really long distances was from CCAC to the library (my mom made me walk there) and that was a long time ago, and walking home back in elementary school

otherwise I don't do any much walking to stores and stuff.

Actually, the weather here in winter is perfect for walking.

But yeah, even after living here for 9 years, I can't stand walking in summer.

I love walking, but have only started again because the weather is bloody odd around here. It's now nice and chilly. Though there are virtually no sidewalks around here to walk on. Really weird.
