Hey guys, so I finally talked my mom into buying me a laptop, I was wondering if you guys could help me out.
It has to be:
Good for Games, like the Sims.
It has to be under $800
It has to have a good amount of Hardrive Space.
has to be sturdy.
Any ideas?
I'm new to shopping for laptops, so I don't wanna fuck up.
Also, is it true that laptop mess up more then desktops?

Well i'd buy something with a good RAM, something along the lines of 320-500gb and probably an acer or sony make would be your best bet.

This one seems genuinely good for speed and memory.

This is a really good one for memory and capacity, so something along these lines would be good for gaming.
Tbh laptops can break more easily considering they have a delicate screen, touchpad and keyboard, and they aren't as sturdy as desktops. but as long as you take care to keep it from overheating (Don't use it onto of duvet covers or anything) and obviously, don't drop it.

Yeah, they're quite bulky but you're gonna have a hard job finding a netbook or something eenie that'll have the capacity and stuff, usually those small ones are for office work on the move and shit :P

Why buy a laptop for games, it will lag the computer so much.
Since you will be filling it with junk, I suggest you have a good processor, ignore the graph card.
And, the one and only advantage of laptop is that it is mobile. Besides that, the best desktop in the world could easily ooutlast the best laptop, 100 times...
It is because desktop has more space, meaning bigger hard drive, bigger cards, more USB ports etc...

Well that sucks. v-v
Looks like I'll be carrying my bookbag again.
Any tips on keeping Mr. Laptop healthy and happy?

Yup, defragment in once a week, virus scan it at least 3 times a week, and do a disk clean up once a week also, make sure the keys aren't sticky underneath and make sure there isn't anything stopping it from pushing down fully. I'd do that every couple of weeks, or better still don't eat while using it :P and like i said make sure when you use it its on a hard surface and not a duvet, that'll mess the fan up and it'll overheat quickly.

whatever you do, dont go for a dell. they are cheap pieces of crap. my sister has a dell laptop. she had for no more than a year and a half and it already has cracks on the case and some is missing. and my aunt also has a dell, and her trackpad is all fucked up.
i would recommend a laptop by HP. HP makes some of the best computers, along with apple (and please dont start a war cause i mentioned apple. cause that always ends up happening) but since youre looking under $800, a macbook is out of the question. haha. and if you want one for games, NETBOOKS ARE OUT OF THE QUESTION! and if youre looking for constant speed, dont fill it up with too much junk and dont keep files that you dont want/use. like kalus said, defragment.

HP are infamous for their faults, most people i know with HP laptops have had to return them or send them off for repairs for some reason or another. But im not about to start a fight on that, im more going on whats better for gaming and in that respect the best two are Acer and Sony.

That thing looks evil and heavey as hell.
Reconsidering the game thing, mainly just something to run my DS and my GBA Emulators would be good. Sims i don't really much, so it's unneeded.

They are the ones the police officers use. Very reliable. Not as heavy as you'd think.

Well, seeming as I'm just gonna use it for Photoshop, Internet and NDS&GBA Emulators, I think a netbook could hnadle it.
