Experimental? Meshuggah isn't that out there. Avant Garde Metal artists like Sleepytime Gorilla Museum (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ksutNW3HFT8), Kayo Dot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-BaDagmtcA), and Unexpect (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbSUEbG3OVE) are the real examples of extreme experimental metal. I suggest you check all three of those out though if you're into bands that like to search for their own sound.
