I feel like a hypocrite because I myself have been masturbating on a daily basis. I urge those of you who are not religious not to shut out what the link says.

Who cares? I don't see why people bitch about lust. It's only natural, and it's harmless. Masturbation has existed for thousands of years, probably before religion itself. It's impossible to eradicate lust. It's one of the most natural feelings. I don't want some ancient book telling me what I can and can't look at. If I want to stare at a friend's cleavage all day, why can't I? It makes no difference in the end.

Um, I think it's a lot better for a guy to masturbate than go grab a random girl and pretend he loves her just for the sex. It's one thing to use someone just for sex, and that is wrong, but masturbating is nothing like that. So I don't understand how it's wrong whatsoever. And if lust is wrong then it's God's fault for making some guys so attractive.

Boobs just have a shape and... feeling? to them that is incredibly sexual. They're associated with sex. I guess it's a mix of culture and genetic predisposition.

But yeah, lust is natural. It's been around longer than religion. It's one of the main forces keeping everyone energetic. Trying to suppress it will only lead us to 1984: where all sexual feeling is abolished and sex is made solely (SOLELY) for pro-creation.

The Bible itself is silent on the matter. That translates for me that God is silent on the matter. If it's lustful, so is sex inside marriage. Neither harm anybody. God never gave us a command that didn't have a logical base. Sex inside marriage satisfies lustful urges, but the Bible says it's fine because it is with your spouse, and thus is more non consequential because you have already made a commitment in wedding vows. If you can satisfy your lust on a spouse, why not on yourself? It is left to personal opinion.

The objectification of others for personal gains is perfectly fine to a certain extent, it's peachy-keen if person is willing to comply, and as long as something is reciprocated to the person in return.

I think that declaring masturbating as a sin is a bit facetious at least. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, and a whole bunch of pages from a work of fiction (in my view, no offense meant) aren't going to change anything. There's no logical reasoning behind it.
