Today there was a cloud in the sky
There was only one,
And it didn’t pass me by.
It sang me a song that was sweet as could be.
A melody like lullabies,
That only mocking birds sing
It’s only a cloud, you’d think as you lie,
In a puddle of leaves that face towards the sky.
That’s the beauty of sight,
It can be what you like,
In the eye of the beholder that cloud is a kite.
Streaming with ribbons on its colorful seems,
It flies through the sky unattached to its strings.
Today in the sky, a cloud was a kite, a beautiful ride,
That made my dreams shine so bright.
When next comes the day that a single cloud stays,
Remember the song that the mocking bird plays,
For only a cloud that’s a kite in the sky,
Can show you your soul, in its very own way.
