i found it pretty hard telling her but im glad i did !

Well done!! That's the first step on the road to recovery.
I bet it must have been really hard to tell your mum about it, I would never be able to do it. Both times that my parents found out, the first thing I thought was, "I wish I told them myself," because the worst thing is for them to hear it from someone else.
My dad never understood self harm. He always said, "I don't get why anyone would want to hurt themselves," but to be honest, I didn't either until I did it for the first time. I really wish I had the courage to tell my parents, but sadly I don't right now. Hopefully one day when I feel strong enough.
Well done, 2 weeks is brilliant! So far I'm on 24 days :) It's hard, but I know that one day things must get better.
Good luck with it all hun :hug3:

Good for you, telling you mum, and going 2 weeks.
When my school counsellor told my dad we never talked about it... last week she called him back in again, a year after the last time he had been in.
He still hasn't mentioned what was said, even though i know what she was going to say. Be grateful for the support system you have, your lucky :)
Keep going mate.

Congratulations on telling your parents, and on two weeks. :) That's really great. My mom knows about my self harm, and it's something that we occasionally talk about. I'm not comfortable with her knowing when I do cut (mainly because she tells the doctor/psychologist and then it just makes things worse for me). I haven't cut in about three days, and right now I'm in a hospital program which is teaching me better coping skills that I've been trying to use so far.
