why was the change made back to section moderators? I liked the system where it was all mods in all sections. This just seems to be confusing to me, i disliked the section system, there wasnt enough moderation for a particular section, given timezones and all, but with all mods in all sections, you could gareuntee a lock or remove, etc.

The system will be covered by the moderators in each section, by the time that these applications are over we will have more than enough moderators to cover everything. I wouldn't worry about it. This just gives all of the moderators time to concentrate more attention to their assigned areas that way everyone is responsible and they feel like leaders in their own sections. It's just the system that's in place. I don't think there's going to be problems with it.

To be honest, since we've switched to having all moderators moderate all sections, I had actually noticed a considerable increase in how quickly my reports have gotten answered. It bothers me that we're switching back to the old system, especially so that it wasn't even announced.

Thats fine, but how come i see Gmods in mods as only some areas?

Global mods have priorities that they look after :P

That makes no sense at all.

Global mods have priorities but they can deal with anything in any forum.
And it was changed to stop contrasting oppinions between mods on reports etc from causing trouble.

i thought a gmod was a senior staff, therefore not having the need to have priority sections. :S

How does that make a difference?

Global mods mod everywhere on the forums yes, but they prioritise in one or two others - meaning that's where their attention goes.

The gmods have priority sections for if there is a thread or post that is contraversial. The priority gmods will know about the running of that section better than the average gmod and will therefore be able to make the decision more easily.

This whole thing with the gmods makes no sense since they are global mods, not priority mods.

They are still global, they just have priorites.

Call it strange thinking on my behalf, but if gmods have priority sections, whats the point of gmods? If they cant be treated like senior staff, and mod wherever they are needed, and not show priority to one section, why even bother?

Global moderators have priorities like normal moderators, but we are able to moderate all sections. Head of sections, we make sure the mods are doing exactly what they should be and giving them an area to improve on when we can see theres something going wrong and making sure the reports are dealt with as swiftly as possible.

It's like in military.
You can be a company leader when you are a Lieutenant, but when you are promoted to Captain, you still lead the same company, but you have the rank.

If you have nothing of use to put here then don't put it at all, and don't tell people to shut up its considered rude when they're only voicing their opinions.
