I unfortunately don't have a male figure in my life. I have my father, but he is severely handicapped due to a stroke. I realized i need to shave my face, but it is awkward to tell my mother.

I know how to, my dad kinda talked to me about when I was like 7 (before the stroke happened) and i actually remember most of it.

I was teased today at school again about having like a lot of upper lip hair, and it is bugging me!

any suggestions on how to ask my mom for razors/tell her i need to shave?

just sit her down buddie, let her know that you want her to get you some razors next time she is at the store, im sure she would be quite happy too.

Although if you have the cash, go ahead and buy yourself a decent razor if you can get served them at the store.

Dude think about it, would you prefer 5 minutes of a little "awkwardness" between you and your mother or a few years of teasing from your classmates?

I know what i would choose ;)

Hahaha I have the same problem, it's just my dad never taught me how, and I'd much rather go to school and get some shit from the jocks who I care nothing about than cut myself or something and get shit from everybody XD lol

Yeah that's the other thing I am concerned about! I'll get crap from the same kid, cause he rides my bus and always makes sure he comments about it.

I hate growing up :P

Just tell her mate, she will understand! I taught myself to shave! It's not too bad! Have to do it 2-3 times a week now though!

Just come out with it say, these are my words, mam will you get me a razor and shaving cream next time your out, im sure she will just say ok, she will hardly say no, will she?.

As for the shaving part wet your face with warm water shake the can of shaving foam, put some in your hands spread on to your face, have water in the sink to rince your razor after each stroke (handheld non eletric) and just shave away do a line move over and repeat

listen, your mom will not think badly of you, i promise :) just ask her to take you to a cvs/wall-greens/publix and go to the razor section. Buy a $14 gillette fusion and gillette shaving cream. remember to not go side to side, but up and down. the razor is almost foolproof and you should need no more than $20...

but if you need help or dont know exactly what to say, please feel free to write on my wall :D
