chat room missing?

so when i logged onto vt for some reason the button on the drop down menu is missing..everything else such as new post search and quick links it there but not chat room. is anyone else having this problem? and if u are when can i do to fix it?

Its not there for me either actually, i just checked. There might be something up with it and Ants had to disable it for now, don't worry it'll be sorted.

Chat won't be coming back unless someone wants to pay the $125 dollars to renew it for another year. Jeff had done it last year out of his own pocket and its finally expired. So don't expect chat for awhile unless someone decides to foot the bill.

You could just make an IRC chat room and use that. It's pretty straight forward

I actually just made a channel if you guys are interested. It's on irc.rizon.net, and it's called #vt. Here's a handy dandy client for anyone not irc-savvy.

edit: OK! So I don't have to explain it each time, I'll go over the basics of IRC:

1. When you click the link, it will ask for a nickname. Just put one in, it can be your VT name or another name of your choosing.

2. Once you've picked your name, type "/msg NickServ REGISTER password" (without quotes), with password being replaced by the password of your choosing. You'll use this to log in to the server so that others can't take your name and you can get mod powers if you qualify. If it says your name is already taken, sorry, but you'll have to choose another one =( To change your nickname, type in "/nick nickname" (without quotes), with nickname replaced by the new one.

3. Now, whenever you enter the room again, type "/msg NickServ IDENTIFY password" (without quotes). This will verify that you are really you, and voila! Your all taken care of!

If you are a chat mod from before and need your powers back, PM me and I'll add you when I get the chance. You'll have to register your nick before you get access to the mod powers though.

So many people have said that they miss the chat room, if everyone that has said so contributed $10 you'd have money to spare. I was looking for the donate option just know and couldnt find it. Maybe it would be a good time to post a reminder how people can donate.
