A prominent member of the Tea Party movement is defending a statement he made about the Muslim representative of Minnesota's 5th District.
On Saturday, Judson Phillips, who heads the Tea Party Nation, published a column suggesting Representative Keith Ellison is unfit to serve because he is Muslim.
"There are a lot of liberals who need to be retired this year, but there are few I can think of more deserving than Keith Ellison," writes Phillips. "Ellison is one of the most radical members of Congress. He has a ZERO rating from the American Conservative Union. He is the only Muslim member of Congress. He supports the Counsel for American Islamic Relations, HAMAS and has helped Congress send millions of tax [dollars] to terrorists in Gaza."
Contrary to Phillip's assertion, Ellison is not the only Muslim in Congress. Indiana Democratic Representative Andre Carson is also Muslim.
The column was written in support of independent candidate Lynne Torgerson, who has herself said some controversial things about Muslims.
"What do I know of Islam?" said Torgerson's website. "Well, I know of 911. Nineteen men from Saudi Arabia, all Muslim, hi-jacked planes, and flew into the two World Trade Towers murdering thousands of people, and tried to fly into our Pentagon, and some believe they also tried to fly an airplane into our White House. From this, what I perceive is Islam conducting an act of war against my country."

Hm. Very interesting. We were founded on Biblical principles, but not such that we don't tolerate other religions. Just because he's a Muslim don't mean he's a terrorist.

YOU ARE A MUSLIM; THEREFORE YOU ARE A TERRORIST! Now go shoot some KAFIRS!
Allhamdullilah, I have killed 227 infidels(176 American Cockroaches and 51 German Cockroaches) so far, thanks to the grace of the Almighty Allah, and the powerful words of our dear prophet Mohammad. After you have beheaded those infidels, make sure you shoot them, trust my words, boy.
Now, can you even touch near to my record? I guess not, but you got the potential, Suleman. Show me that Seljug power, man!
Okay, I am going for Jihad in the Name of Allah, and kill me some infidels!
In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful...
Alalalalalalalalala!
Oh shit... is that an African killer bee? Wait, it is a Somali Ally! Allah Akbar!

Because ignorant Christan fucktards think Islam is an evil religion because the people who flew the planes into the World Trade Center, etc. were Muslim.

I can't find anything that back up their claim. The burden on proof is on them.

Eh, as I see it the founding fathers were wary of religion. Especially Jefferson.

Am I a Christian fucktard? I sure don't judge other religions. Hell, I follow some Celtic pagan ways, it's called Christian Druidry. I take great interest in other religions and their views. I merely chose Christ because 1) I was raised to follow Him and 2) Because he's never failed me yet.

Actually Jefferson was rather religious, he rewrote the bible. He believed in Christian principals, just not the mysticism/miracles.

Yes, but when it came to government he was the one who fought the most for freedom of religion and separation of church and state.

Not all Christians are fucktards, and not all Muslims are terrorists, it's as simple as that. A majority of Christians do not believe that Islam is evil, and vice versa. It's a matter of perception modern Christians inherited from overly Christian Europe in the past.

I did not say all Christian are fucktards. I said:

And so are ignorant atheists, Jews, Hindus and whoever heard of Islam.
For them, it is a malign death cult of rape and murder, and its hellbent leader is a pedophile. Where Allah, the Muslims' God, is not the alter ego of Yahweh, but a false pagan moon God. And Islam's symbol is the crescent of Diana and the Star of Satan.

He fought for religious freedom, not separation of church and state. There is a key difference.

I mean the rules against school football teams saying a prayer if they want to is a perfect example of separation of church and state but is against the free practice of religion.
That's one example, there are others like it.

I see what you're saying, but if you think about it, there could be a Muslim or Jew, etc. on the football team. If you say a prayer for one religion, you'd have to say one for all the religions prominent in that school.

Yes, but he pretty much coined the term "separation of church and state". He supported the idea, to an extent.

I think it could be left up to a democratic vote by the students. It would best represent the wishes of the majority. (Of course, there could not be any penalty for not participating.)

But not to the extent anyone today talks about. He really only supported freedom of religion.
