if you could give us a bit more information about what you like, i'm sure we'll be able to give a better range of artists to listen to :-)

I can send you a list of a bunch of awesome indie bands if you'd be interested. If your not, I recommend listening to Arcade Fire, The Decemberists and Neutral Milk Hotel

Go on Last FM, can listen to music free and will tell you a load of music similar to what you already listen too :)

I'm really digging the easy stuff right now :) Lots of Jack Johnson, She & Him, and Train in my iPod right now.

Also note the world always needs more White Stripes fans.

awesome! i'm new on this site and you guys rock! so much help!

ok. SO i would love to get some info on those indie bands and stuff. i can't get enough of arcade fire. C A N T GET E N O U G H. I also tried out LastFM. It's pretty snazzy but not what I'M looking for.

but what i meant was more of something that can go through my music library on itunes, like the genius function, and make playlists for me. genius is ok, but it's not wonderful. any of you have suggestions for that??:yeah:

I'll keep searching and post my results here to help all of you lovely peeps out.

Give me a specific genre, and I will give you wonders.

I specialize in psychedelic acid, space, drone, stoner, noise rock and drone metal - mostly drug stuff.

And my alter ego's Dark electro, terror ebm, darkwave and whatever that ugly ass have in his pants - mostly polyvinyl industrial stuff. :)

Try Pandora Radio too. You type in an artist or song and it generates a continuous stream of music based on the style of whatever you typed in.

You like indie bands? My iTunes library is pretty much half indie and have industrial XD I love Arcade Fire myself. The Airborne Toxic Event, Florence & The Machine, Imogen Heap, Glen Hansard, Hurricane Bells, Manchester Orchestra, Tegan & Sara. Of course there's more, but I tried to stay in more of the indie pop/rock versus other indie bands. Just a list you could try if you're looking for more indie.

Sometimes, I wonder why the poor kid is always the one with the best musical taste.

Well, the best way to help you would be to know what genre of music you like the most (Rock, Hip Hop, Pop, Rap, Alternative, Classical, etc.).

There are great bands and artists out of every category, but before I name any, I want to know which one you prefer the most.

Hey nearlythere,
I think Syvelocin is the only one who understood what you've meant, haha.
Pandora sounded cool, so I wanted to try it too. But as you see I'm in New Zealand and Pandora is only available in the US. There is a program like Pandora, it is called mufin. My brother had it and he told me it's great so I tried it. Really easy to create playlists and surf through your music. It is algorithm-based so your recommendation always match to your songs. Just google it, there is a free version on the official site.
I hope it helps.
