We were going today with my father and lil sister to get flue vaxine, and the nurse-dude says to rol lup my sleeve, and he sees my cut but my dad doesn't notice, but then the IDIOT DOCTOR say, WHERE HAVE YOU GOR THOSE CUTS? i almost cut his head off XD i said it's my cat. Then the doctor continues and says "Oh, how often does he scratches you?" and im like O_______O WTH?
just made me wanna kill him. just needed to let it out >< anyway, my father didn't ask me about it later, even though i think he got that i'm cutting.

The doctor was only trying to help you although i can totally understand how this might would be annoying :/ I once had to take my jacket off a nurse and managed to hide it all somehow. As for you dad, if he approaches you about it then just be honest, he may be able to help you, but i would have thought he would have mentioned it if he knew what was going on.

That sounds like it would have been frustrating. I'd hate it if someone said that infront of my parents, especially my dad.

Maybe if he's noticed the cuts, it might be time to talk to him about it. I know the thought of talking to a doctor is daunting, and it seems like you really really don't want to do it, but it's for the best.

He'll be able to help you, and refer you to a psychiatrist if he thinks it's needed. They're there because they want to help you, and they'll keep it confidential, they won't tell your parents unless they think you might commit suicide.

It's a hard step to take, but it's worth it.

Aww! I'm sorry dear. I know it sucks to be a minor and have your parents with you everywhere. I don't mind that my family knows that I cut, but it is nice to no longer be a minor so they don't get all up in my business.

oh wow :|. I would have lost it. I can see why you'd be pissed. But if your dad notices that you've been cutting, he should appraoch you, or you approach him maybe andd talk about it.

Something similar happened to me.

I went to the doctor for a sports physical and the doctor saw these nasty cuts i had on my arm from the night before and he's like "oh wow what happened?" i just brushed it off and said my cat did it. I acted like it was nothing but i totally freaked inside. I knew he didn't believe me because i have a few other scars on my arm, i thought he was gonna tell my mom. Luckily nothing happened though, i was relieved at the time but i would have loved to get help for my self harm.

Sorry you had that happen to you esp. In front of your dad. But maybe this would make it easier to talk to him about you possibly getting help? I know its not that easy but its just something to think about. Anyway i hope you stay well and take care. :]
