I've recently realised that whenever i get angry and what not, instead of heading for the razors, i just pick at a certain part on my face until it bleeds.
I'm always really calm afterwards.

I was just wondering, am i the only one that does this?
Cause i think it's pretty weird..

I dont pick at my face but sometimes i will tear skin off my hand until it bleeds.
Do you do it instead of cutting or as well as? because maybe thats just your way of feeling the pain of it.

Im sorry im not much help, not really sure to be honest, although i do think you should stop because your face can scar really easily. and what will you say if people ask you what the scars are from. PM me if you want to talk xx

I've never done this but it is self harm, and the same as self harm so it isn't really weird it's just your own way of doing it. As Fran said you should try and stop but this can be hard, i know.
Feel free to pm/vm or email me at any time :)

Personally, I've never done this, but picking your face until it bleeds is still self harm, and I have done that and so have many others, so you are in no way alone.

Like the others have said, try and stop now, because soon you could end up doing it more and more, and leaving more severe wounds just to get the same effect, as it can spiral out of control very quickly.

If you're doing it as a substitute for cutting, there really is no point, because it's still self harm, and it's just as addictive. Try and find a way to distract yourself. Whenever you have an urge, find something to keep yourself busy.

You can PM or E-mail me if you ever need to talk, I'm always here :hug3:

I've never done this myself, but yes it still counts as self harm
And will proably leave more visiable scars, try and stop before it becomes too addictive.
I know its not easy, try and make yourself distracted whenever you feel the need to do it
Hope this sort of helps

I do that too. Its mostly because I do have some acne and I just pick and pick and pick until my face bleeds and swells up.

This "face picking" is not a technique i would personally use. But like others have said, your face is so easily scarred, so please try to stop.
Your not wierd and not alone.

i pick at my face, and look at it in the magnified mirror, and obsess over it. it's me being picky and self-conscious about my acne and shit like that. all it gets me are little dark scars all over my face. but i do it obsessively, every day after i get out of the shower. i'm glad i'm not the only one who does this, but that doesn't change that it isn't healthy.
i also didn't know it was SH. interesting...

I don't pick at my face, but when I don't have access to anything else, I just tear open the area where your finger nails meet the sides of your finger...

Yeah, SH can include many different behaviours. Trichotillomania can be considered self-harm, as can many other behaviours. I had a friend who would bite her nails purposefully, so close that they would bleed, as SH.
