Hiroka

I was wondering how to get skinny
info about me and BMI calculations:
Age: 14 years 11 months (my birthday is on november 5th)
Sex: Boy
Height: 5 feet 5–1/2 inch(es)
Weight: 169 pounds
Results
Based on the height and weight entered, the BMI is 27.7

This means Im pretty much overweight, and I want to get towards the 22-24 BMI.

I already planned to go to the sport school with my friend once I get 15, but Id like a few more tips to make me skinnier a bit faster.
I eat regularly, and scheduled. No idea if its family related though.

Any tips on this will be helpful.

Thanks in advance, Hiroka.

Check out to see if weight issues are present in your family history. As for eating make sure you eat a good balanced diet, which means cutting out any junk food you may eat (Every so often is ok) and make sure you eat your 5 a day (its not as hard as it sounds, have an apple and another piece of fruit with some toast for breakfast, have another apple and a handful of grapes for your lunch. For dinner maybe have a bit of chicken with some broccoli and/or carrots or substitute it for something you like. Instead of taking the bus or using the car, walk to places (within reason, like to school or something if its in your area, if not then don't worry) Or just take short works around the area if you can't.

Doing sport is a good idea, and as Aaron said, things like walking to school is also a good idea. Don't cut down on the amount of food your eating (unless it is ridiculously over the top), just change the things your eating to healthier alternatives.

im loosing some weight at the moment as well and the method im employing; as well as watching what im eating etc, is to go for a daily jog.

you dont need to go jogging every day, or even for a long distance to start with, every second or third day is a good starting place =]

you could even take your mate that you are going to sport school with; it makes a major difference jogging with someone - trust me on that one :P

I barely eat any junk food, and fruit is provided for me every evening :) Walking to school would take me an hour, and with bike it takes already around 30 minutes.

Thanks, I'll check for a few more healthier food.

I asked my friend if he'd go for jogging or go on the bike with me just for sports, and I think that hes gonna help me accomplish my achievement too!

Thanks for the help guys, I guess I got enough information now :)
Any more help could be of course helpful!

why post for advice, then completely reject that advice? The poster was correct in saying the most obvious way to loss weight is to exercise and eat healthily and if its so obvious, why haven't you done so? Also if your aiming for 22-24 BMI, then you will be underweight so you should be aiming for 25.

Underweight isn't 22. It's more like <18.5. 21 -22 is supposed to be 'perfect' weight.

As Fact said, overweight is supposedly above 30 and perfect weight is between 20-25. Underweight is below 18.5.

22-24 BMI is fine ;)

BMI Weight Status
Below 18.5 Underweight
18.5 - 24.9 Normal
25.0 - 29.9 Overweight
30.0 and Above Obese

And all the things he posted were already said and I commented on those. No need for him to repeat what I have read already, right? As I already know it and he doesnt have to repeat others just to gain a few more posts...

Also, instead of supporting me, you start confronting me with stuff.. that sure helps me to persist on whether or not I should continue on the goal..
But since I never really listen to idiots like you (to put it that way), I just completely ignore your confrontal sentence..

I'm sure he was only trying help, if the answer was so obvious, then why post the question in the first place? Why not mention in your original post that answers like "eat less", "exercise more" are unhelpful. There was no need to be so sarcastic to the guy

He said: exercise more, how much should I exercise? not helpful in any way..

Well it is recommended that you exercise a minimum of 1hour per day, so why not make it one hour and a half?

It depends on the fat content of your food ie one fast food meal, is more fattening than 100 salads

I thought it was half an hour? Therefore increase to an hour a day?

Fast food = once in the week, doubt that this could be wrong in any way ;)
And for the exercise part: 1 hour? I have PE 2 hours a week, probably gonna be 4 hours a week in 2-3 weeks or so. This added to my regular workout means I should do ~45mins of exercise a day, agreed?

Sounds good to me.
Try to gradually make your fast food intake even fewer and further between, gradually?
Also, the more healthy food you eat continuously without eating crap, the better healthy food seems to your taste buds - then eventually you probably won't even enjoy the taste of crap, if that's a problem at all for you.

I basically like anything to eat, so healthy food shouldnt be a problem at all... just 1 question, can a milkshake be healthy if its self-made?

Please stop posting useless stuff, it wont help me graduate towards my goal in any way as of how you post right now! <--- tl;dr = STOP SPAMMING!!

Milkshake... It depends what exactly you put in it.
I went through a banana milkshake phase. But I made mine unhealthy due to overkill on the ice cream and chocolate shavings XD
I think if you use less ice cream and more milk/fruit juices, then it could be healthy :] you know yourself what you 'should' or 'shouldn't' be eating, so just bear that in mind whenever you're making things like that yourself.

I'd cut it to once or twice a month.

He wasn't even close to spamming, it's a valid point, cutting it out completely would be best. Just chill man and relax. If someone's spamming, the mods will deal with it.

If he likes it, it should never be completely cut out of the diet unless he wants to do so. Diets should be sufficient, not all about what you can and can't have, but being able to have anything as long as you control your portions.

I hate fast food. But there are other things I love that would make me sad to never eat again. You have to be happy with what you are and aren't eating. Never tell yourself you can't have it, as that leads to a higher probability of eating too much of it or binging. Let yourself have it, but like I said, less of it. Get a kid-sized meal, that's actually a good size for a meal. As time passes, we seem to be eating bigger meals. We don't need to completely fill ourselves on food. After all, we eat for energy essentially, not because the food is good (that's only why people LIKE to eat, not why we DO eat)

Yada yada. I've spent way too much of my life researching this stuff. Obsessive much? I think so.

Fully cutting out a food type from ones diet isn't healthy either. Also you're more inclined to 'cheet' if you restrict something entierely.

hypocritacal post is hypocritical.

Well this always works for me if i wanna lose a little weight haha.

Basically what I do is only eat 7 grams of fat per meal.( you can find out how much fat something has on the nutrition label) But don't eat alot of bread or anything thats really high in carbs cause, you still won't lose weight. It also helps if you excersize while doing the diet. hope i helped:D

One thing that i noticed helped me the most " im kinda overweight myself :(" if you drink soda stop drinking it, you will loose weight faster. if you eat when you get bored find a hobby or go hang out with some friends instead of that. and wake up earlier in the morning and have a decent sized healthy breakfast it will keep you fuller during the day and of course at least 30 mins of cardio workout like running or riding your bike, whatever you like lol. this is what i found out has helped me the most, hope it helps! good luck

I barely drink soda, I hang out with friends often and pretty much play games alot too. I cant wake up early in the morning because I will fall asleep within 5secs anyway, because I go to bed way to late in midnight.. going to school already takes me 20 to 40 minutes (depends on weather) and back. This would mean a total of 40-80 minutes going from home to school and back home. Not to include the PE class Im getting next semester.. this would be at least 4 hours a week.
