View Full Version : I felt dizzy

So today I cut myself.
I haven't done it in a while and I didn't cut that deep, just enough for it to bleed some.
But the weird thing is that I felt really exhausted afterwards and felt like I was going to faint, like the room was almost spinning.
Has this happened ti anyone of you?? 'Cause it has never happened to me and it freaked the hell out of me.

That sounds like you might have lost too much. Were you sitting down when you did it? If you stood up too quickly, blood rushes to your head, and boom.

Yes, it happened to me a few times when I used to cut over a year ago.
Not really sure why though, stress/shock?

Its the blood loss, even if its miniscule, moving too quickly afterwards can cause nausea and diziness. Same in an accident, thats why they don't reccomend moving the victim too quickly.

I think it might be blood loss more than anything else

The blood loss thing could actually make sense.
I sat down when I cut and then I stood up and that's when I felt dizzy.
Thanks for the help 'cause it freaked the hell out of me, now I know it's nothing that serious.

whether its blood loss or whatever, I would take it as something to prevent me from self harm. I I know that I'm gonna get dizzy afterwards, I won't do it. That sorta thing, maybe that can help you stop cutting again. Keep it up man.

I'm trying as hard as I can to stop harming. I manage for maybe a week of two and then I have to cut even if I don't have a reason for it.

standing up straight away and fast after bleeding, or anything really isn't a good idea. I had this, and it was diagnosed as anemia though (low iron in blood, causing lightheadedness, tiredness, ect ect). You said you felt exsausted so this may be a sign of that. But it is most likely caused by the bloodloss from cutting.
