just got out of a psych ward which i was in for, for 15 days of withdrawls and threating staff. i swallowed a pill bottle and they admitted me when they saw me close to death and the cuts on my arms. i was so happy to get outta there for the first few days but now im on my 5th day out and i feel that box cutter getting close again. dont know what to do anymore, everythings backwards and running fast. anything??

Sounds like you had a really rough time. I'm not sure I can help too much, but i"ll try. The best thing I can think of for a situtation like this is to get away from sharp objects. Throw the box cutter in the garbage, or put it somewhere you wont have to see it all the time.
Hiding it will help you forget about that stuff and will hopefully help you stop cutting. It's a hard process but take it one step at a time and you'll make a full recovery. :)

sit down, breathe and let yourself see sense for a minute.
it seems you're rushing around too much, jumping too far ahead of yourself and losing yourself again.
if you don't want it, tell someone how you're feeling, let them help you.
you don't need to hurt yourself like that, it will make nothing go away.
the past will always exist, nothing will change it.
you're alive, and that is the main thing.
if you're ready, and spfreask said, chuck the box.
let it go, you can start getting better
you just need to let yourself

I have also been to the psych ward. The thing about psychiatric hospitals is they give you a safe place to recover and teach you coping skills, but ultimately you have to go home to the same things you were dealing with before. The main difference is the coping skills you learn. Think of (or even write down) things to do to keep you from cutting again. Whether it be go for a run, listen to music, talk to somebody, or even play a video game. Problems in life will always be there, the way we deal with it is what matters. Cutting is an addiction just like any drug used to stifle the pain. You know they say it takes as long to break a habit as it does to make it. Keep that in mind. I'll keep you in my thoughts friend.
