View Full Version : Fedora 13 and monitor don't work well...

I've been having a problem with my LCD monitor. On startup, the Fedora 13 bars start to "add up" as usual. Then, the screen goes black and I get a message from the monitor saying "Format not supported". I hate that. My dad has tried everything, including trying to make a new xorg.config.d file. But to no avail. He said something about the "pixel clock" and how the graphics card didn't support it in that it was either way too high or just to low. My graphics card is an ATI Rage XL with 8MB of VRAM, by the way. I've even tried setting up a VNC to do it normally from another computer, but I couldn't get that to work either. All that I can access is the shell, which isn't really much. To actually get the desktop and stuff, I need to use this bulky CRT, which is small and way too big for my desk:mad:.
In case you were wondering, my monitor is a 19PFL3504D/F7

It sounds like it's running a resolution not supported my your monitor. Although I do suggest upgrading your graphics as that card is seriously old and not very powerful at all.

Impossible. I can't do that; it is built in to the computer(which is a server board, btw) and the computer is 1U high(barely anything).

Besides, it's working now, so this thread's done.

How did you get banned so quickly, Slippy?
