Ewww, I think I'll have to play the bad-guy role again ;)
I think that...
- There is a problem with the way light/shadow plays on the weapon's blade. For one think, this is obviously a blade made of metal, so you'd expect to shine and reflect the fire light; and second, the shadow made by the head/ears of the character on it don't properly render either the material or the depth of the distance between the head and the blade.
- Same remark for the tail: obviously a rounded volume made of fur (unless she irons it ? :)), yet the shadows are suggesting more of a flat plastic surface.
- Human feet definitely don't have the shape you represented. There is also a problem of symmetry on the drawing, as one foot has toes aligned on a diagonal, while the other has them on a horizontal.
- Shades, again, are not working on the skin parts. You'd expect highly contrasted shadows created by the nearby flames on her legs and knees. Moreover, the normal volumes of human legs and feet are not underlines by shades at all: legs are "cylinders", knees are like two small "hills", and the top of the feet for a very curved arch - none of this is present in your coloring, rendering legs as if they were two flat surfaces.
- Nose: humans have noses (and so do kitsunes, given their better sense of smell :)). Especially within the strong light of a burning fire around, the nose would be very visible and would actually play a big role in the "dramatization" of the expression.
Overall, I liked the design; hands are nicely rendered, and the pose is interesting. But the coloring would definitely deserve a rework IMHO.
Hope this was helpful!

The flame behind her isn't really there [equivalent to a poster hanging on the wall], but I agree that the flames she's holding should have more of an effect on the lighting.

Hmmm, maybe a bit...

She's walking, thus the asymmetrical characteristics the feet. Also, being the fact that she's a fox, she is standing on her toes on the right foot (our left) as she walks, and her left foot (our right) isn't on the ground.
I've been having major issues with colouring skin-tones, because the markers I use to colour skin are dried out, and I don't have the money to replace them. (In other words, I've been colouring skin tones with my computer, and I'm really horrible at it.)
- Nose: humans have noses (and so do kitsunes, given their better sense of smell :)). Especially within the strong light of a burning fire around, the nose would be very visible and would actually play a big role in the "dramatization" of the expression.

Agreed...

P.S. Some of the proportions are awkward, but they're based mainly on my own... Semi-disproportional...
