Hey guys, a teacher at my school just gave me this big project where i have to make a bigg....thats besides the point, i need help for finding background music, i need songs that are very deep and meaningful, nothing metal or screamo, just some music that makes you think bout life etc.
If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated:cool:

Hoppipolla by Sigur Ros is really atmospheric and extremely beautiful. Pretty much everything by Sufjan Stevens would qualify, especially the liner atmospheric tracks between songs. In terms of songs, try The Owl and the Tanager, though it might be a little on the slow side >.>

Across the Universe by The Beatles. But I don't have to tell you who it's by, you should already know.

If this were my project, I would chose Brand New, Staind, Porcupine Tree, Lacuna Coil, HIM, Seether, Nirvana or 3 Doors Down (especially 'When I'm Gone'). I love these bands because their songs have a lot of meaning to me. :)
I think you should look around at different songs by those artists.

Somebody by Depeche Mode (love)
Sometimes by Depeche Mode (some kind of psychological wickedness)
New Dress by Depeche Mode (social theme)
Precious by Depeche Mode (family love)
Roxanne by Sting (prostitution)
My Way by Frank Sinatra (dying happily and fulfilled)
That's all I can remember right now.
If you just need some laid back music then I advise you to go with Sting's new album Symphonicities, it's beautiful and I would use it in its whole if themed songs weren't a must.
