Well it is that time of year again and things seem to really heat up around now since early voting is has started is some or most states. But there isn't a real place for us to talk about. I know Im getting to that age were I can understand and think about what is right for my city, state, and even country. For me Im very interested in politics and think it would be a great thing for young people (us) to talk about and start getting involved in. Because in few years for some and either this year or even now, we will be voting in the primaries and in two years a great handful of us will be voting for a new president or keeping President Obama in office. I also think it will be a area for people to speak out for what they would like to see what happens in there country or state or even the city they live.
Now I know this seems like it will be a short term Section, but I think there is always something in the political world to keep this section hot. From Voting for the next president to just talking about issues that we think should be brought up or talking about new laws that have passed or laws that are in the house. I really think I can be a good place for Teens that like politics like myself to educate each others and share opinions on the current political news.
Hope to see it soon!

Rambling of the Wise?

Well not exactly, If you look through "Rambling of the Wise" most of all it has nothing to do with purely politics. I want to a place were it shows how to look through political figures, See what they want for their city, state, or country. And How to get involved in politics themselves even as a teen.
Hope to see it soon!

I think you have to remember that this is a global forum, American state elections are of little interest to the wider community. Between ROTW and TWPR there seems to be ample provision to discuss politics.

That is true, but still even those who are not can still post in for there current elections and thoughts and concerns that are going on in there country, Not just in the united states. Just like I said before, ROTW has little or even no talk about politics and I would like purely politic talk.

really tho
its only a seasonal thing
like when theres an election
or budgets
or our fucking goon in charge screws over our defenses.
and to have a functional forum
it needs to be posted in frequently not just time depending

In the United States it is, But not all countries elect there Political Figures at this time. I know that I would be decent forum now but I know what you mean when the US elections settle down, But when The UK and Australia's kicks up, the number would pick back up. I also think it would withstand a steady flow even in the periods of time when there aren't elections going on.

for either of us that would keep threads and posts up to fill the forum
we cant just have a season long deathness of a forum

So you think the forum would be totally dead during times where there was no elections? I have a hard time believing that.

A kinds of stuff, whats happening in the white house, War Against Terrorism, Current laws that want/need to be passed. Big Court rulings Such as the "Don't ask, don't tell" Policy that was just ended this week by a judge in Cal. Witch allows gay soldiers to be openly gay while serving in the US military. There is TONS of things. Not only the US issues but then there could be Foreign affairs and other things.
I'm am sure that this forum would keep a steady flow of visitors through out the time when there is not elections going on.
Thanks for reading,

Well, we've got to be careful and not end up like GovTeen, with tons of different forums but no activity whatsoever. ROTW is a pretty active place, but it simply doesn't rake up enough posts and new threads to merit an entire sub-forum. It's just fine the way it is now.

That is not what I thought i would see from you justin, And I disagree with you. Yes, ROTW is active but with nothing about politics in it at all. I want something that is just purely on politics. That so that debate we had about men getting rape in prison can go in there with all the other topics that have to do with our government and the other countries too.

Also Justin your tread, "Religion in the military" I would say would go into this sub forum too.

If you want more talking about politics, you should feel free to post threads about it. There is nothing stopping you. Until there is significant discussion of politics to the point that the volume warrants its own place, there is no need for a separate forum for it.
I'd like to see more political discussion as well. But that doesn't require a new forum, merely more threads and people talking in the forums we already have for those things.

What David said. If there's a certain theme to the political thread, post it into the forum that corresponds to that theme. I would LOVE to see more political discussions.

You would think I would support it, but I just don't. After seeing the mess GovTeen is in with its subforum overload, I think VT needs to be more conservative when creating new forums. ROTW is fairly busy, but nowhere near enough to merit subforums.
You should post some more political topics, we're a bit low on them now :P

I don't support any kind of a political specific subforum
1-There is already a ROTW forum.
2-Everything which is open to discussion can be discussed there .
3-We, at least I, don't want people to open up fights because of politics.
Another reason, is that we cant just open a sub forum to discuss only American elections. And if we add other political talk there the place will be too mixed up.
And why you people still think on " Should we open an american politics forum or not?", I know that american members are a majority here but still it would be unfair and needless...
And if you say " Politic things are not on majority in ROTW so we should open a political forum", then we should open forums for almost everything that is discussed on ROTW.
And last but the most important, this is for drew.
What you say: """ROTW is active but with nothing about politics in it at all. I want something that is just purely on politics."""
If people don't put political stuff on ROTW, or not too many replies on political posts, it simply means that people don't want to discuss about politics.
Take Tech Junky for example, the game Oblivion is not discussed there, should we open an Oblivion forum for that ?
